Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have some old Bogen/Manffroto telescopic pan arms with rosette clamps. will these fit on the CX series head rosettes? they look similar but my CX6 tripod system hasn't arrived yet so I can't try it...

A: We cant know for certain without knowing the exact model tripod arm however it is usually safe to assume that it will not work. There is no universal standard rosette size/pattern for tripod arms and even Manfrotto/Bogen have a few variations of their rosette arm.

Q: 2. Does this work with the Miller Compass 25?

A: The Miller Telescopic Pan Handle for ArrowX Heads is compatible with the Miller Compass 25.

Q: 3. Do you sell the clamp and screw for this handle separately? It is for an ArrowX head.

A: In order to obtain spare parts including the clamp and screw for the handle of the Miller Telescopic Pan Handle for ArrowX Heads you must contact Miller parts and services.

Q: 4. Is the 3rd step of drag on the CX6 similar to the 5th step on the CX8 or is it less? Is the difference just fewer steps in-between or is it less drag overall?

A: Comparisons between the drag settings is not something listed by Miller on any head. The key in this case is that the CX8 offers more adjust-ability with 5 steps over 3 steps on the CX6. However we are not aware of a direct comparison between the steps.

Q: 5. Is the sliding plate interchangeable with the AirAV model?

A: No, the AirV fluid head (#1044) uses the “Versa” camera plate (#1201) The AIR fluid head (#1042) uses the standard camera plate(#1205) However, you could add a receiver onto the AIR that would allow you to use the AirV Versa plate on the AIR Head. Q: 6. I will be upgrading from a Benro H8. I know this head is WAY better. My main complaint with the Benro is, the maximum drag is really weak. I want heavy drag that you really have to push on so slow movements are highly controlled. Is the heaviest drag on this head really stiff?

A: Yes not only is the Miller more stiff at its maximum setting it also offers more steps in between the lightest and toughest setting.

Q: 7. Will this 100mm head fit on a Vinten tripod with 100mm bowl?

A: The Miller CX10 Fluid Head (B&H# MI1096) will fit in tripods, hi-hats, and bowl adapters conforming to the 100mm bowl standard. Please note that the particulars of inter-brand fit can vary, however, so we cannot promise that every user will be satisfied with every combination. However, we do offer 30 days to return this item (with all packaging items and packing materials, and in the same shape it was received) if it does not meet your needs.

Q: 8. If I would would buy Miller legs with 100mm fitting to go with this head, do I also need to buy a 100mm ball leveler seperately to lock it on the legs or does it come with this CX10 head? If so which one should I buy from B&H? I could not find it...

A: Every 75mm or higher fluid head comes with a ball clamp.

Q: 9. Is the 75mm bowl proprietary to Miller tripods? Will this head fit any brand of tripod with a 75mm bowl? For example, experience taught me Sachtler bowls are proprietary to the tripods.

A: Yes.

Q: 10. Why is this plate NOT listed as an accessory for the Compass20 Fluid Head under quick release plates ? I now have to order this after ordering the wrong plate.

A: We are sorry for any confusion. This is the proper plate for the Compass20 Fluid Head.
