Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will it work on a film slr?

A: This is a Canon lens and will fit only on a Canon DSLR with the smaller AP-C sensor . . . .

Q: 2. Is this good for real estate photography?

A: If you own a Canon EOS DSLR camera that uses the smaller APS-C sensor, then yes, the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Lens would be a good option for your needs. It has very good distortion performance for a super-wide angle lens and would be recommended for real estate photography.

Q: 3. Does this lens have exposure ring on it

A: No, it does not. The EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Lens only has a zoom ring and a focusing ring and a window that indicates focus distance (along with the AF/MF focus switch).

Q: 4. Will this len work on a Canon 6D body

A: No, this lens is an EF-S type lens designed for the APS-C/1.6x sized sensor camera, and is not compatible with the 6D or full-frame DSLRs. - Yossi

Q: 5. will this lens' autofocus work with sigma mc-11 adaptor and a6500?

A: I have no idea.

Q: 6. How well does this lens perform for the Canon 90D and what image stabilizer adapter pieces would you recommend?

A: This lens works very well on the 90D. Regarding a stabilizer, you can get a motorized gimbal, like a Ronin or Zhiyun Crane or hand held rig or shoulder rig. Q: 7. Is this lens compatible with EOS 50D body?

A: Yes, it is 100% compatible with the 50D.

Q: 8. This lens does not fit the canon 6d camera. Is there something I can buy that can connect the lens to the 6d camera body?

A: The Canon 10-22 is an EF-S mount. The Canon 6D is a full frame camera and is only compatible with Canon EF lenses. There is no adapter at this time to accommodate EF-S lenses to a Canon full frame camera body.

Q: 9. Is this lens image stabilized? It was recommended as a lens for the t6i. Will I get full performance on that cropped body?

A: It is not a stabilized lens. Because the lens is so wide, shaky video or photos aren't as noticeable as a telephoto lens. This is not a full frame lens, so you will get full performance with this crop sensor lens on a crop sensor camera such as the t6i.

Q: 10. Is this lens compatible with the 5D mark II? In order to compensate the crop sensor

A: The Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Lens is not compatible with the 5D II. The EF-S lenses are not compatible with full frame cameras, and cannot be mounted on a FF camera.

Over the past few months I have found myself in several situations where I wish I could shoot something wider than what my 24-105 would allow. So, I decided to give this lens a try. I kicked around the idea of getting the 17-40 4L (about the same price) but in the end wanted a 16-35mm equivalent for my 1.6x crop body. Resale values on this lens hold pretty well, so if I decide to move to a full frame camera, I'm not too worried about selling and replacing this lens. Just about every review I read on the web was very positive about this lens, so it wasn't a very hard decision to go with this over the off brands that offer similar fields of view. The lens is very sharp, dare I say L lens sharp. The colors and contrast are very nice as well. It is not as rugged as an L lens, but it doesn't feel cheap either. The rings are very smooth and the lens feels solid enough. I still find myself grabbing at the wrong ring every once in a while (the focus and zoom rings are reversed from my other lenses). It's a great lens when you're in a tight location and can't back up any further. It also provides some unique perspective, making it quite fun to shoot with. Expertise: Amateur Problems Encountered: The only gripe with this is that Canon doesn't provide the lens hood with the lens. Especially since this lens is about the same price as the 17-40 f4L, which does come with the hood. I bought this lens for my wife's 40D, and it's just fantastic. Super-wide, yet super-sharp! The quality is excellent, focus is quick and accurate, and the lens is very light. Everything you'd want in a wide angle lens.

Purchased this lens after realizing my 17-55mm f/2.8IS was not going to be wide enough for my purposes which are landscape photography and some photojournalist work. Mind you the 17-55mm is amazing all on its own but we'll stick with the 10-22mm review! Dramatic images, WIDE, FUN, very sharp and great color as well. This lens is usually mounted on one of my bodies and I have the 70-200mm on the other. This is an extremely popular lens here in Canada and extremely overpriced I may add (here). I got an amazing deal as always at B&H and it's hard to believe I get even better service then when I try to stay locally and support small businesses! The lens is excellent for dramatic landscapes, architecture, indoor shooting for commercial purposes (buildings etc) and group shots where you want everyone in your image! Another thing it is great for but not discussed a lot is that you can get VERY close to your subject and can be used as a half decent macro lens although if you want true macro you know what to purchase! Highly recommended if you need an UWA lens for your 1.6x body.

This is a great wide angle lens for the 1.6 sensor cameras. As you probably know, it gives you a 16-35 mm. It is not an L lens but the glass is darn close. Very good clarity. Exterior is not L quality but neither is the price.

This lens creates very sharp images. I think it's my favorite lens. As others have mentioned, it does have a large depth of field, but unlike others I don't think this is its downside. It's all what you intend to use the lens for. I love shooting landscape as well as buildings with this lens. If you use it correctly you can create some very awesome images. Use it wrong, and the wide angle can distort your image perhaps in a way you were not expecting. I think it is more susceptible to showing dust or debris on the lens or your filters in your images so plan on taking the time to keep them clean. The lens is built well and has a solid feel. This lens isnt an L lens, but in my humble opinion, it creates an image that is every bit L quality. It works great for capturing large areas of a room. If you need a flash, plan on using equipment that can light up a much larger area as this lens will require something much more then the built in flash of your xt or xti. Expertise: Amateur at best, Novice on most days Items I Recommend: 77mm UV filter

I have the Canon 24-105mm L IS series and was always thrilled with the 24mm wide angle. When I got this baby, my concept of wide angle changed! Now, I can be close to the structure I want to photograph and get the whole structure in one frame. Photographing a group has never been more fun. People are amazed when they see the result. It reminds me of the days when the first 70mm movies came out. 35mm was the norm of the day with an occasional 70mm. With the 70mm movie, it was like you were right there. That is the same feeling I get when I see the pixs taken with this baby. Build is solid. Sure no hood but, at this price, I wouldn't mind paying for a hood. Fine color rendition. Play some with your camera's custom modes - I created a 'user defined' mode on my xti that has sharpness notched up to 6, mono with an Organge filter. Also, created a mode for color with sharpness notched up to 6. Depending on what I am shooting, those modes really spruce up the pix with the help of the lens. Weight seems just right. Like the compactness.
