Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Where does the battery charging cable attach to the grip?

A: The charging connector on the Nikon MB-N11 Power Battery Pack with Vertical Grip is located right above the battery chamber cover; there is a rubber cover with the USB indication icon.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with the new Z6 III?

A: This is not compatible with the Nikon Z6 III Mirrorless Camera (B&H # NIZ63). The camera is compatible with the Nikon MB-N14 Power Battery Pack (B&H # NIMBN14).

Q: 3. Does the MB-N11 battery grip's function button, wheel and joystick have programability within the Z6 II camera's menu system like the camera's wheel, joystick and buttons? Or, are the MB-N11's functions set/fixed by Nikon?

A: The buttons on the MB-N11 can be assigned as needed within the camera's menu.

Q: 4. Does the battery tray door have a locking button? I'm referring to the square I see on the door. Or, does the door just "click" into place, similar to the memory card door?

A: There is a locking button on the battery door.

Q: 5. Can this grip use the newer NP-W126S batteries or just the older NP-W126 batteries?

A: The grip works fine with the older battery. Fuji claims the newer battery is necessary to get top performance. I haven't had mine long enough to figure out what the real differences are.

Q: 6. How much does the grip extend movie recording for resolutions lower than 4k?

A: It's the same, 30 minutes. The limit is due to heat and preventing the camera form overheating.

Q: 7. Is battery changing the same as on the previous Z grip, or does it use a "slide out" holder as with the D850 grip? Will it accept the larger EN-EL18 or only two small batteries?

A: The manual is not out yet for the grip. But from the information out it seems it has no battery holder. So, works like the Z6 I grip. It does not use the larger EN-EL18. It uses the two EN-EL 15 batteries.

Q: 8. Is it compatible with the original z6?

A: This grip is limited to the Z6 II and Z7 II only.

Q: 9. I'm assuming that a ball head quick release plate will screw onto the bottom? What are the limitations?

A: I use quick release plates on mine all the time. Balance can be a little odd but nothing unusual. The only real issue is the flexing of the the plastic portion that surrounds the side of the camera. As others have noted it has a gap. Feels funky but really is not an issue. It is a good product.

Q: 10. Is this only compatible with the X-T2? Would it work with an X-T20?

A: It's for the Fujifilm X-T2 only.
