Polaroid 76700 60mm F/9 Reflector Telescope
- Product Code: ga187877
-
Polaroid designed their 76700 60mm f/9 Reflector Telescope to give beginner star-gazers a complete astronomical platform for making detailed observations of the Moon and larger planets, learning constellations, or viewing comets, while providing them with the tools to use the scope as a powerful spotter for Earth-bound subjects.
Its 76mm primary mirror and 700mm focal length make this a highly portable and easy-to-handle scope, while the adjustable aluminum tripod provides a stable platform for users of various heights. Two eyepieces are provided that produce a high 175x and low 88x powers, and when used with the 3x Barlow lens the magnification of each eyepiece is tripled to add to the scope's versatility. For terrestrial viewing, Polaroid includes a 1.5x erector prism that corrects the image horizontally and vertically. Finally, to safely view the moon between the first and last quarter phases, when it is at its brightest, there is a moon filter that simply threads onto the front of the eyepiece, Barlow, or diagonal to reduce intense moonlight and improve contrast for better and clearer views.

Q: 1. Does this have a smart phone attachment
A: Mine did not come with a smartphone attachment.
Q: 2. Can I attach a Sony a6000 with E-Mount to a Celestron Astromaster 130 eq?
A: Yes, you will need the Celestron Universal Barlow and T-Adapter #93640 and a T/T2 Mount Lens Adapter Ring for Sony a6000 which Celestron does not offer.
Q: 3. What adapter would I need to get for a Sony A7riii (full frame)?
A: You will need the following adapters: T-Minus Ring for Sony E Mount (NEX/A7/A9/QX/VG Series) and a Celestron Universal Barlow and T-Adapter: https://www.celestron.com/products/universal-barlow-and-t-adapter-125in
Q: 4. Can I attach a Nikon Camera?
A: Yes. The type of adapter will be determined by the model of your Nikon camera
Q: 5. Would this be a good choice for viewing planets, I.e. Jupiter, Saturn, etc?
A: Planets appear small and are very bright in the eVscope. Because they are so bright, they can only be observed in "Live View" mode. The same is true for the moon, but it just about fits into the eVscope's field of view (its height does not quite fit). Can I see planets with a telescope? Image result for Can eVscope see planets? With just a small or medium-sized telescope, skygazers can easily observe planets. You'll be surprised how much of our solar system you can see! And you don't need a dark sky to view all of our solar system's planets; even under city lights, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn can be easy to see with a telescope.
Q: 6. I have a Canon Rebel T3i what would I need to buy to make it compatible with this telescope?
A: All you will need is 2 Adapters. The first is the Celestron SLR (35mm OR Digital) Camera Adapter for All Refractor and Reflector Telescopes which Accept 1.25" Eyepieces - Requires Camera-Specific T-Mount Adapter. Then the Vello T-Mount Lens to Canon EF/EF-S-Mount Camera Lens Adapter. Link to Adapter 1: https://bhpho.to/3or5zHH Link to Adapter 2: https://bhpho.to/39h8nAK
Q: 7. Can it be adapted to photograph with a Canon powershot sx530 hs? I want to make sure before purchasing.
A: Unfortunately no, the SX530 lens is too long to be adapted to a telescope. It is better to adapt a lens with little or no zoom such as a smart phone and this adapter: https://bhpho.to/3rWspcT
Q: 8. Hello. What T-adaptor (and model number) would I need for a Canon 90D?
A: So you would need two Adapters. The first is the Celestron SLR (35mm OR Digital) Camera Adapter for All Refractor and Reflector Telescopes which Accept 1.25" Eyepieces - Requires Camera-Specific T-Mount Adapter. Link: https://bhpho.to/3tBoaDk Then the Vello T-Mount Lens to Canon EF/EF-S-Mount Camera Lens Adapter. Link: https://bhpho.to/3d3htDE
Q: 9. The image is upside down. How do we fix the Barlow lense
A: You would have to add an erecting prism. Example: Celestron 90° Star Diagonal (1.25") BH #CEDS1.25 • MFR #94115-A https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/201981-REG/Celestron_94115_A_Star_Diagonal_1_25.html They do come in 90 or 45 degree configurations.
Q: 10. I have a nikon D750, what accessories would i need to connect this to my camera?
A: You need a T-connector mount and a Nikon compatible T-connector ring. I bought both through B&H. The camera needs to be put in Manual mode. The Newtonian reflector needs a focusing Lens of some type. This can be accomplished using the 10mm lens inserted into the T-connector. Some fellow put detailed step by step instructions on the Amazon website how to do this. I suggest that you Google the phrase Celestron Astromaster 130mm EQ will not focus with Nikon camera and you should get to this procedure. I followed it and it works.
