Q: 1. Shooting on a boat, let's say I need to swim from an anchored sailboat to shore, not terribly far, would you feel confident floating the case in the saltwater for the swim?

A: I think it is likely that the Pelican folks would agree that this is risky. I have never tried it; maybe it would be ok. However, fully loaded, your case+contents can be very heavy is unlikely to float. Stripped of the bags and with a light load it would float but chuck full ... i doubt it. The seals are pretty robust though. So, if you have maintained the o-rings, etc, it is likely to be dry inside after exposure to water. If you are just transporting a light load, it may float and there is a reasonable chance that this box will protect your equipment. If you are carting several thousand dollars worth of equipment, though, I would not risk attempting to float the package. However, I cannot think of a better container to protect your equipment from damage were the trip to the water to be accidental. You could, of course, put some weights in the box and see how it works. Be sure to expose it to some waves.

Q: 2. ordered and received Pelican 1510, do I order the small organizers? Screws were included.

A: If you are looking to purchase the internal dividers and lid organizer items separately, the Pelican 1515 Padded Divider Set - for Pelican 1510 Series Cases, B&H # PEDS1510, and the Pelican 1519 Photographer's Lid Organizer for Pelican 1510 Case, B&H # PELO1510, would be the correct items for your needs.

Q: 3. can I use this to transport a self inflatable life vest on a chopper?

A: This would likely depend on what, if any, restrictions the helicopter had about luggage (available space), and the size of the vest not only before it is inflated, but also after. Other than that, I cannot see any issues with using a pelican case to transport a self inflatable life vest in a helicopter.

Q: 4. can the computer lid be removed or changed

A: Both lid pouches attach to the backing with velcro. The backing is screwed onto the lid.

Q: 5. Will a ASUS ROG 15.6 laptop can fit? Tnx!

A: Pelican states that the Pelican 1510SC Studio Case with Lid Organizer and Yellow Divider Set fits notebook computers up to 14.4 x 11.1 x 1.7 (36.58 x 28.19 x 4.32 cm). The dimensions of the ASUS 15.6 Republic of Gamers Strix Gaming Notebook are listed as 15.1 x 0.9 x 10.3 . Unfortunately, the ASUS notebook laptop will not fit in the pouch included in the case.

Q: 6. Does it come with the foam insert?

A: Yes. It comes with the foam insert and the laptop pouch at the lid.

Q: 7. Can the zippered nylon tub be removed? and be replaced by the dividers from the Pelican 1515 Padded Divider Set?Thanks!

A: Yes

Q: 8. Hi anyone use this for a canon c100 standing upright with the top mic handle off ? does it clear well with the pouch ?

A: No, the camera is a touch too tall for that case.

Q: 9. I noticed in some reviews how the full bodies such as D4, 1D or D800 with battery grip and Mark III with battery grip were an issue. When you put them they'd usually stand out and get stuck when closing the case because of the laptop lid. I know this isnt the case when one is using foam on top but how many of users with the SC model faced this issue?

A: i have an eos1ds and a 5dsrmkiii with batt grip, this top padded compartment in the picture you sent is not good.i have found using the one with the mesh pockets work best then just leaving the pockets above the camera bodies empty works great. Pelican 1519 Photographer's Lid Organizer for Pelican 1510 Case B&H # PELO1510 MFR # 1510-510-000

Q: 10. What is the difference between the 1510 and the 1510SC (other than the insert options?

A: The Pelican 1510SC Studio Case with Lid Organizer and Yellow Divider Set (Black) is the same as the Pelican 1510 case. SC refers to the insert.
