A: Yes Michael, it's tight, but you can close the door on the battery compartment. There is a little rubber trap door on the battery compartment door that flips up for the cable to exit. Unfortunately, it won't work on the 3rd party AC adapter that B&H sells because the cable does not line up with the trap door. Only the expensive Sony version works.

A: The Zoom AD-17 is designed for US 100V AC/60Hz only, However there is nothing proprietary in this adapter. You would be able to use any 5V 1A USB bus power source.
