The photos on this camera are generally good, but the camera's interface is terrible, and finding out how to use various features is very difficult.

I guess your USB cable would work -- I have used the USB that came with the camera to download photos to my laptop...no problem...I was able to edit/delete poor pix, but haven't gotten beyond that.
