Q: 1. Would anyone recommend using this to scan negative film? Mainly 35mm. I see that this camera can focus to 4 inches. Would that fill the 35mm frame? I know there are better system to do this, but don't got the time, and I saw someone on YouTube attempting this so had to ask. Thanks!

A: You can certainly use your camera to photograph negatives and reverse the image. Just make sure the negative is flat and that you have an even light source behind it.

A: Yes. As indicated on page 167 of the Fujifilm X100V Mirrorless Digital Camera's User Manual, you may go to [MENU → AUDIO SETTING → INTERNAL MIC LEVEL ADJUSTMENT] which has options listed [Auto], which adjusts the recording level automatically, [Manual], which allows you to adjust the recording level manually by pressing the focus stick/focus lever right to choose from 25 recording levels, or [Off], which turns off the built-in microphone. When using an external microphone, you may go to [MENU → AUDIO SETTING → EXTERNAL MIC LEVEL ADJUSTMENT] which has the same options except [Off] will instead disable recording using external microphones.

Q: 5. does this have a rubber seal so it doesn't scratch the camera where it rubs against?

A: There is no rubber seal. The thumb grip attaches securely into the flash shoe and does not have any loose/sloppy tolerance. The aluminum thumb hook/rest stays about 1mm off the camera body, never touching it.
