Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will it hold the tameron 150-600mm lens?

A: This would be far too large for a Tamron 150-600mm lens. You may view options to store the Tamron lens on its product link under the Accessories tab.

Q: 2. With a 600f4 I carry a 1.4x, 2x, and extension tubes. and drop-in filters. Is the pocket large enough to hold these accessories?

A: 100% the Lowepro trekker can accommodate a pro DSLR, 600mm f/4 Lens Attached and as well have some wiggle room for much needed accessories such as your teleconverters.

Q: 3. Does the handle make it uncomfortable on your back when used as a pack?

A: The handle is not the biggest issue for the Lowepro Pro Trekker RLX 450 AW II Backpack. What makes it uncomfortable is the squarish design where it doesn't mold to your back. Also you tend to hit the wheels with your elbow. It is okay to be worn for an hour or two but more than that it is uncomfortable.

Q: 4. can this bag fit a drone, 5 inch monitor, gimbal, Canon R6 with 2 regular size lenses and extra batteries for mentioned kit?

A: Yes, the Lowepro Pro Trekker RLX 450 AW II Backpack (Black) should be large enough for a drone, 5 inch monitor, gimbal, Canon R6 with 2 regular size lenses and extra batteries. But it does depends on the size of the drone, and lenses. The bag interior is, 17.72 x 12.6 x 5.12".

Q: 5. I have a Canham DLC 45, folded size 8"x7"x4.25" and film holders, lenses, lightmeter. Will they all fit?

A: The Canham DLC 45 with film holders and accessories will fit in the Lowepro Pro Trekker RLX 450 AW II Backpack.

Q: 6. Will this fit a Nikon 400mm f2.8 VR with first hood attached and D4s body attached. I want to be able to have the setup ready to go as I'm a photojournalist. The HK-33-1 hood is only about 4in long so it should fit? I don't use the second part hood or care about it fitting. Thanks.

A: Yes, it will fit your set up.

Q: 7. I'm looking for a backpack to carry a Nikon D7100 and a Sigma 150-6000mm? They don't have to be attached. Looking for smallest bag for airline carry on.

A: The D7100 with a Sigma 150-600mm lens attached will snuggly fit into the Lowepro ProTactic BP 350 AW II Camera bag. This BP 350 is the right size for a carry on for the airlines.

Q: 8. Can a 16 inch MacBook Pro fit into this?

A: Yes, an Apple 16" MacBook Pro can fit inside the Lowepro Pro Trekker RLX 450 AW II Backpack.

Q: 9. The Specs indicate exterior dimensions of 20.47 x 14.17 x 9.84" / 52 x 36 x 25 cm; the video indicates 22 x 12 x 9". Can you please clarify dimensions? I am assuming the dimensions include the wheels and handles/padding. Thanks

A: The measurements provided by Lowepro are 36 x 25 x 52 cm / 20.47 x 14.17 x 9.84" and were what we measured in the store. The include the wheels but and handle (when not extended) so as to give you a measurement of how large the bag is when stowed away as hand-carry and/or potentially as a check-in bag as last resort.

Q: 10. Do you think this bag is better than the Rugged Alpine 600 Lens Backpack?

A: I also don't have any experience with the Alpine backpack. I did my research prior buying and went with the Lowepro 600 and couldn't be more satisfied. It carry's very well with a Pro body and I slip a seat belt through the shoulder straps and it rides very well secured in the back seat when we travel. Good luck with your choice.

I purchased both the Lowe Pro 600 AW III backpack as well as the Alta Sky 66 to see which I liked better. I tested them with my Canon 1DXII and Canon 600mm f/4 II lens, a Really Right Stuff carbon fiber tripod with Wimberly gimbal, and a carbon fiber mono pod.

Pros: The Lowepro is designed well to carry the weight of the above listed gear. The pack feels stable and the hip belt is well designed to transfer the weight from shoulders to the hips for an all-day trek. The adjustable strap system allowed me to properly set it up for my 6'-1" body. The Alta Sky 66 could not be adjusted long enough to accommodate my height comfortably and its hip belts were too light to transfer the load of all this gear well. It certainly protects the gear well with its ample padding and straps. There are plenty of loops and straps on the sides and hip belt to allow attaching lens cases or anything else. The tripod and monopod strapped securely to the sides. I can store the camera with both the 600mm and a 2x teleconverter attached without issue. On the Alta Sky, I needed to remove the 2x and store it in the pack separately.

Cons: The cons were not serious, but it is not styled as nicely as the Alta Sky 66. This Lowepro looks a little nerdy sticking up like a monolith and would benefit from something to break up the smooth zipper flap. I also wish it was optionally possible to attach the tripod on the rear instead of the side like the Alta Sky, but this is not a big issue either.

Conclusion: For me the Lowepro was the only reasonable option because of my height and the weight/size of my gear. I am quite happy with it. If I had a 400mm f/2.8 setup and was 5'-10" I might chose the Alta Sky.

I've been looking for a pack to carry my 600 f/4 with TC and camera attached for a while. I've tried many others but feel this Lowepro works the best for me! The lens feels completely secure when hiking and doesn't move around at all. I also strap my Gitzo monopod w/ Wimberley gimbal head and the whole setup weighs 22lbs (including water). Very easy for long hikes! For size reference, I'm loading a Sony 600mm f/4 + 1.4x TC + Sony a9ii with battery grip. When stored in the pack I keep the lens hood reversed without the hood cover so it's still very fast to pull out and fire off some shots! When the lens is in the pack I have approx. 3-4 from the camera to the top of the pack.

Ordered another as my wifes dog chewed the shoulder straps off of my brand sew pack before I had a opportunity to use it. On to the new pack, it's excelent quality, very comfortable with my D4s & 600 f/4. Onlu complaint it should be about 6 taller so I don't have to reverse the len's hood. Also, the new pack is now always behind closed door's. BAD DOG

I have used Lowepro bags since the days of film (are you old enough?). I have a large lens and often go shooting with just the one lens and camera and a few miscellaneous pieces, extra batteries, lens brush, extra memory, tripod, etc. The Lens Trekker 600 AW III backpack design handles it all comfortably and conveniently.

This is the second Lowepro Lens Trekker that I have purchased. It's just the perfect size for almost every photographer with a long lens. I'm 6'2 and it adjusted perfectly for my height. The backpack offers superb protection for the expensive long lenses, and is quick to use with the camera attached for the once in a lifetime shot of wildlife.

I purchased the Lens Trekker 600 AW III to carry a Nikon 600 f/4 lens with body attached and it fits perfectly. The backpack is very sturdy and has great padding to protect the lens. Additional adjustable support pads hold the lens securely in place when transporting. The shoulder harness system is adjustable for a perfect fit and the waist belt has great padding and helps tremendously to support the weight and ease the load on the shoulders. There is enough room above the lens with body to carry another body and lens on the padded shelf.

I bought this backpack for my 500+tele combo so I could get the camera out faster with out having to attach the camera after removing the lens as it was with my old bag. The camera fits great with the lens and teleconverter attached to it, but if it was only a little bit bigger, I could have the hood in place too, this would make taking the camera out of the bag and ready to shoot in seconds. Now all I have to do is to connect the hood, I hate doing this on the field because I am always afraid that something could touch the glass when installing the hood. Overral, is the best bag in the market.
