I'm sure that you could rig up something that would be good enough, but worry what kind of message that would send to patients and how often you would struggle to document exactly what you need. I would think that some sort of macro ring light would be necessary and that you would have the best luck shooting through some sort of continuous LED ringlight, but there's probably nothing specifically made for the G7x-at least as far as I know. Canon is a great choice for you and if money is an issue-you could find something used-maybe a Canon 7D and a used 100mm macro and then look for lighting for the macro as well? Just IMHO.
