Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. It looks like a box shape. Does it move or bounce around when carrying it as a shoulder bag?

A: It does not.

Q: 2. For the Pro 65 bag...The specs states the interior dimensions as follows: 13.0 x 7.5 x 9.0 . Does anyone know which dimension is the height? Thank you.

A: interior of my bag 8 from padded bottom to top zipper.

Q: 3. will this bag fit under an airplane seat?

A: Yes, it does.

Q: 4. Is the free (addOn Item) RUPS65DS included in the main picture? How does the interior look without the addOn?

A: The set of dividers that is included as a free item is a replacement set of dividers, which is not pictured but identical to that shown in the product images. The interior without dividers is just grey with velcro fastening.

Q: 5. Hi,I see the interior dimensions are 11.0 x 6.5 x 7.9 .Is the 7.9 the interior height, or distance from front to back? (Looks like height, but it's hard to tell for sure from the photo.)Thanks.

A: 7.9 is the height of the bag, and 6.5 is the depth of the bag.

Q: 6. Can you carry the Sony A7rII , and an A6300 together in this case with 4 lenses ? Is there a place to attach the Tripod case on the outside of bag , will it also carry an iPad or Mac Book pro , and IS THIS CASE LOCKABLE ? I would like to LOCK the Zippers when on Aircraft in Cabin , or Trains ( Asia ).

A: The interior of this case has removable velcro dividers that will allow you to configure the contents. Depending on how big/long your lenses are 2 camera bodies and 4 lenses could fit. It may be difficult to attach your tripod. under one side the is an elastic band, but it would carry awkward. You might be able to slip it under the case flap. There is a semi-separate zippered enclosure(part of the lid flap) over the interior. That would only mean less cushion for the camera and contents. There is a compartment for a laptop/tablet(upright against the back wall) but it will only measure 13 X8 potentially 9 and again depends on the quantity of items you're wanting to put in the bag. There are two zippers that come together over the contents. The metal zipper slide is not a solid fabricated piece; the pulls are yellow nylon loops as seen in the bottom left corner of the bag. It could be locked but by no means completely secure. The lid clip on the front of the bag has no ability to lock. Maybe a zip tie. All said I LOVE this bag. It has more room and cushion than the backpack trend. Lots of convenient storage pockets/spaces. A carrying handle and nice adjustable shoulder strap. And a bonus hidden rain cover that can be zipped out in a moments notice.

Q: 7. Is the depth 7.5 or 9.0? Will my canon 60D with a canon 70-300L lens mounted fit lens down in this case? If not, do you have a recommendation?

A: The interior depth of the Ruggard Navigator 55 shoulder bag is 7.5 inches. A 60D with 70-300mm lens attached will fit if positioned horizontally in the bag.

Q: 8. What's the depth of the 13" laptop pocket on the 65L bag? Wondering if it could hold a small gimbal

A: The depth to put a laptop into the Ruggard Commando Pro 65 DSLR Shoulder Bag is about 9 inches.

Q: 9. What is the purpose of having a top flap that is velcro'ed and can separated from the zippered lid? Seem that having a one piece flap/zippered lid like that of the Navigator models is better?

A: By leaving the zippered top flap unzippered, you can velcro it to the outer flap permitting easy, quick access when changing bodies or lenses etc. with just the buckle needed for closure. When finished with the shoot, you can zip the top flap forming a firmer seal and having the outer flap for extra protection.

Q: 10. Will this hold a Z9 with 70-200 attached? Thanks

A: Yes, the Ruggard Commando Pro 65 DSLR Shoulder Bag will support the following lens and camera combo.

These bags are one tough, very well-made camera bags for both local day trips, as well as use on extended trips overseas. I love the flexibility of the design and they don't scream expensive camera bag so steal me like some other bag brands out there.

The strap is not something you have to worry about being easily cut and your bag snatched in certain cities in the U.S. and Europe, which is another big plus I appreciate. The padding on the strap makes the bag a comfortable carry throughout the day.

This bag is sized so it easily fits in airline overheads, as well as can fit under airline seats. So, you don't need to fret about being asked to check your camera gear on packed flights, which nobody wants to do.

My previous Ruggard bag is a Commando Pro 45 that I still use for my other camera setup. After 8 years of use and abuse, it is still holding up really well. This Commando Pro 65 is a slightly longer and deeper version of that same design, which I needed for the my new camera setup and essential lenses, charger, filters, etc..

Nice and light and rugged. So far perfect for all my gear. Lots of pockets for stuff and like the back I can fit my ipad in there.

Room for Nikon D850, and 14-24 / 24/70 also a 70-300 sometimes. It’s tight and heavy but it works great

I needed a day bag for camera body and three lenses; have large stroller bag that holds three bodies, lenses, flash and accessories for traveling. Vacillated between 75, 65 and 45 models. The 65 proved just right. Also, was almost dissuaded from negative comments about Velcro lid nonsense. You don't need to open Velcro anything to get into the bag. Very happy with purchase.

For years I've used a Ruggard 36 for my camera and equipment but as I've added more lenses I need more room and the Ruggard 65 fits the bill perfectly. It's big enough to hold what I need but not so big it is tough to lug around. Really enjoy using this bag.
