This is a really great bag. It is not too large, and definitely not too small.
Where to start...the Good: Bag holds tons of equipment. For me, it holds my Nikon D7200 with Nikon 18-200 lens. Also, a Nikon 10-24 wide angle lens, and a Nikon 50mm lens. Then I can put in my Nikon SB-900 flash, and a large hard case lens/camera cleaning kit. In the front flap are 2 extra camera batteries with charger, 4 extra flash batteries with charger, a few USB cables, and a few other extra items. That is a ton of equipment, perfect for a long road trip.
Now, the sort of Bad: There is no strap for your tri-pod. It would have been easy to put an extra strap on the bag for it, but it is not there. Then there is the top flap with loud Velcro when opening. Some hate it, I really do not mind. This extra flap is only for more padding on the top. So leave it closed! All you need to do is, when it is shut, release and fold up the front flap that covers the front side of the case. Leave the Velcro in place. Then, fold that flap up multiple times to create a crease in the flap. When broken in, all you will need to do is release the from strap lock, and fold up the front flap. Then you can easily unzip the top, and fold back with the Velcro top in place to get to your equipment. It is that easy.
All in all, this bag is very protective, and a great buy. And the best price around was from B&H Photo. Highly recommended!

this bag has plenty of padding to protect your camera and lenses or whatever else you choose to put in it. like the backpack it has plenty of inside pockets and attach points. closure is 3 quick connect straps and a velcro strip as well. this thing isn't coming open unless you want it to.

Already had several Ruggard bags and knew they were of good quality. I needed a bigger bag and the Commando Pro 65 was the right one to get. The Commando Pro 65 is well made and spacious.

I didn't find any problem with the Velcro strip under the top. Once you unhook the plastic snap device the entire top opens easily.

Bottom line is that the Commando Pro 65 is a well made, good-sized camera bag,

I can definitely say this is one of the best photography-related purchases I've ever made, as I can now carry all my camera stuff in one bag with enough space for everything! I use the Sony SLT-A58 camera with four different lenses and everything fits snugly in the adjustable compartments. This bag also has a slot for my Microsoft Surface Pro 3 (or any 12-13 tablet) as you can see in the second photo I've provided. There are also two large mesh compartments and several smaller pockets for such smaller items as memory cards, spare batteries, etc., and the outside has a mesh pocket for a water bottle, etc. One of my favorite features is the zippered compartment on the bottom that includes a rain cover that covers the entire bag. Luckily, I've not had to use it so far. Overall, I love this bag and it's many features, and it should suit my needs for a long time.

Very nicely designed bag with plenty of space for most equipment and incidentals. Well padded for good protection. Top flap is sort of a pain but I can live with it. Overall, the bag will serve me well on my trips.

I bought this to accommodate a growing camera system (Sony A7Riii). This bag holds two camera bodies--one with lens, the other with body cap--and 5 other lenses, ranging from 20mm to 85mm. A snug fit, perhaps, but everything I need is in a small, travel-ready bag. Ruggard bags are well constructed and durable.

I got this bag after my old Lowpro gave up the ghost after 20 years of use. But my budget was small because I am now disabled and living on disability makes gear a challenge to get. I am very impressed with this bag. Seems well built. Sturdy. We will see how it holds up. I am not expecting 20 years out of it. I don't think I have 20 years left in me. At least not doing photography. Some have complained about the velcro between the flap and the top of the bag. That is there so there is not so much stress on the zipper. They complain about the noise when opening. Well if you would look at it and think for a few seconds, you don't need to undo the velcro to open the camera. Just undo the three clips. Undo the zipper. And open the bag with the flap still attached to the lid. Really? You could not figure this out? People just don't think anymore. If you need a bag and this is the size you need give it a try. As I use it more I will update my review. Especially if I have any issues with it. But so far I am happy with it.
