Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If attaching a speedlite, will an accessory be necessary?

A: The end of the boom has a standard 5/8 light stand stud with a 1/4 screw. If you want to attach a speedlight, you will need to first attach something to the stud or 1/4 screw. The most common products for this is are a radio receiver, a cold shoe or a long off camera flash cable. Whichever you use, check to be sure it has a 1/4 tap for attaching to the 1/4' screw.

Q: 2. What is the width of the yoke? the exact dimensions?

A: Unfortunately we do not have this in stock to measure.

Q: 3. What is the IMLSRH stand made of? Aluminum? Iron/Steel?

A: It's made of aluminum and you really need to use the weights in this link: a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/53583-REG/Tenba_636_206_Heavy_30_Sandbag.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/53583-REG/Tenba_636_206_Heavy_30_Sandbag.html/a

Q: 4. I just bought the Multiboom Light Stand and Reflector Holder, and it won't open. The legs at the base won't spread apart. I've fiddled with a lot of the knobs, but without further instructions I'm at a loss. Is there something I'm missing or did I get a defunct item?

A: There is a way but I can not describe, you need to play with it without applying much force. Change the connection point to central pole first then try legs.

Q: 5. Will the smallest 8mm opening snugly hold a scrim flag such as the folding Impact or Westcott flags and scrims?

A: The Impact LSA-BC Light Stand Boom Clamp should work for holding flags. But most use one like this, BH #IMKCP200B (https://bhpho.to/3ZY7uJr).

Q: 6. Package weight says 4.0 lbs. How much does the actual stand weigh?

A: about 2 lbs.

Q: 7. Can you take out the clip from the end and put it on the other end of the boom arm? I am trying to put a reflector so that the weight is equally balanced on both sides - specially when I do not need to extend it.

A: The Integral Reflector Clip on the Impact Multiboom Light Stand is able to slide up and down the length of the boom arm, but is not designed to be removed and attached to the opposite end of the boom arm. However, do note that there is a hole on the tail end of the boom onto which you may connect a counterbalance weight to offset any weight difference.

Q: 8. Is any reflector compatible with this?

A: When you say any reflector that leaves a myriad of options, some of which, because of their sheer size, will not fit on this holder, but it is very adjustable and will hold pretty much any reflector that isn't larger than 48 .

Q: 9. Does this head comes with the quick release plate?

A: The Katana and Katana Jr. Gimbal Series come with a free PX6 or PX7 balancing plate included in the box. ($3540 value). This would include the Jr. w/o cradle.

Q: 10. What is the main differences between Katana and the more expensive model they make?

A: The more expensive one has a lateral arm and supports twice the weight, of course it is bigger and heavier.
