Its broad zoom range allows you to more easily scan the landscape for targets at the low 20x with the ability to quickly dial up the power to 60x and make detailed observations of distant subjects.

The chassis is sealed to be water and fogproof even in extreme weather conditions. The straight-through viewing configuration makes finding and tracking subjects faster and easier versus angled designs. A 1/4"-20 mount makes it compatible with many tripods, quick release plates, and other popular support systems like window mounts, and Barska includes a compact tabletop tripod to get you observing right out of the box. A: That is a hard question to answer. Where I'm at in the Appalachian mountains I don't have many opportunities to look that far. However, I can tell you this. At over a 1/4 mile I can see acorns on the oak trees. I can see all the beautiful craters on the moon and I can clearly see Venus and her moons and see the bands on Venus.

A: If you have a Nikon DSLR all you will need is an M42 T Adapter with a Nikon Mount. Then they will work.
