Best used at a distance up to 4' away from the subject, the CamMic+ features a cardioid pickup pattern that focuses the audio capture in front of the camera, while rejecting distracting sounds in the background. Engaging the 80 Hz, low-cut filter helps to reduce unwanted low-frequency noise caused by traffic and air conditioning, leaving room for clearer speech and dialog.

A smart design feature of the CamMic+ is the robust, integrated shockmount. It helps to isolate the mic from handling noise and vibrations when you're on the move, greatly reducing muddying low-end rumble.

The included bullet-like, dual-layer windscreen gives the CamMic+ a slick and functional look, while blocking wind noise and protecting it from the elements.

The CamMic+ offers an integrated, locking shoe mount that features a 1/4"-20 thread at the bottom and is ready to attach to your camera, gimbal, tripod, boompole, or stand. The mic can also be mounted to a smartphone using a phone tripod adapter clamp equipped with a cold shoe (available separately).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Saramonic VMICPRO have a low battery indication?

A: Yes. When it is powered on, the Saramonic Vmic5 Pro should have a blue LED on. When the battery is low, that will switch to a solid red light.

Q: 2. Will this also fit in the Canon c70 supplied mic holder?

A: Yes this should fit on the shoe mount of Canon C70

Q: 3. Will this work with an iPhone, using lighting to 3.5mm headphone adapter?

A: Yes, I love the mic. I pair it with my iPhone, gopro, and my canon dslr. For the iPhone I bought a monopod, already had a ball-mount/thread adapter, from B&H purchased a Melamount iPhone case. So the phone gets installed in the case (has 2 1/4 20 thread mounts and 3 mounting spots for the Rode Mic and video light). The case has 2 folding handles; think I paid $35 & shipping. The mic definitely increases the decibels.

Q: 4. Does this capture a 2nd channel with -10db simultaneously as a way to protect against sounds that risk clipping?

A: The Saramonic Vmic5 Pro Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone does not include a "safety track" feature that captures a second track at a lower level than the main signal. It does feature three stages of gain control on board, but this is up to the user to adjust manually.

Q: 5. Will it work with a camera that provides no bus power over the connector?

A: No it will not. The host device must supply the requisite plug-in power voltage.

Q: 6. Will it work if I connect it directly to the camcorder?

A: Yes if the camera has a 3.5mm input and provides plug-in power. Please consult your camera's user manual to see if the 3.5mm microphone input provides plug-in power. Most do, but it is worth checking before you purchase.

Q: 7. is this adaptable to a gopro?

A: Yes, the Saramonic Vmic5 Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone can be adapted for use with a GoPro camera.

Q: 8. Will this microphone work with the Blackmagic Pocket 4k Cinema Camera?

A: Yes, fully compatible.

Q: 9. Can a flash be mounted along with this mic onto a Canon 5D Mark IV?

A: You would need to use a multi-shoe bracket to be able to do that like B&H # VECB415

Q: 10. Is this microphone Mac compatible straight out of the box? I'd like to use it for web conferencing on a Mac Mini.

A: This is not designed for web conferencing use straight out of the box. You will need either of these usb adapters to allow for a separate mic in and headphone out B&H # SAAUMMSA or B&H # SAAUMMSC.

Well worth the price, this little mic performs like a champ and the windsock is more of a windbreaker than anything you owned in the 80s. The moon shaped plastic thing works like gangbusters to eliminate moving around noise. Just buy this one, You can afford it.

I know others have praised this mic for what it does for it's size and price but you can't really know how good it is until you use it. What a HUGE difference over the crummy mic built into the mirrorless cameras! We especially like it for shooting with our Sony a7s on a one-hand gimbal. We get great sound but no extra weight and no problem with the balance.

The Rode VideoMicro microphone is a great addition to any mobile video kit. The directional mic does really well with picking up your subject and filtering out ambient noise. The boom pole that comes with this kit is lightweight yet sturdy and is a great addition to the mobile kit. The cable that comes with the kit allows you to use the mic with the boompole. The cable works for cameras, but not for mobile phones.

If you are a YouTube creator like me.If you are on a budget around $60.00 this would be the great microphone for your YT Videos and films. This is very compact microphone. It comes with the windscreen to block out wind from getting into your audio. No need of buying batteries.Just "Plug & Play" with the microphone. If you want to get into advanced microphones go for the Rode Shotgun Pro Microphone. The Rode Video micro is the same thing of the Rode Shotgun Pro but in a small and cheaper form.If you are a new creator or you are spending a budget on film supplies to improve. This is the best microphone for you!Buying this Rode mic from B&H is cheaper than buying from Best Buy or any other camera areas. It is the way to go to buy from B7H photos for this mic for $55.99 in total. No tax if you are outside of the map.Great support.

I own this video mic and the Rode NTG3. This is my go to vlog Mic and the price point makes it great choice. Audio is not prefect but thats why I do clean up in Audition. Super easy to use and awesomely compact!

Don't let the size fool you. This mic has plenty of range. I replaced my Rode Pro with this for on-the-go videos and the result is barely noticeable in quality, very noticeable in weight and comfort.
