I use the R with big glass. The body is OK on its own but this grip makes it perfect. Was not willing to do it at $499 but when the price dropped to $399 I could not resist. So glad I did. Feels just right in the hands with the big lenses on. Evens out the weight. USB charging two batteries at a time is a big plus. You can charge with the grip on the camera or off. Battery anxiety is gone with this on the camera. R burns through batteries faster than I am used to coming from a DSLR so this fixes that. If you want mirrorless for smaller and lighter, not for you. If you want the advantage of mirrorless and a DSLR feel. This is for you. 5
