Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this adapter electronically close the aperture of Mamiya 645 AF lenses? I.e. for the newer lenses without an aperture ring- If I shoot with my Schneider 150 LS at F/16, will the sony body close the lens to F/16, or can I only shoot it wide open?

A: You would need this version for a 645AF lens: https://bhpho.to/3xc5L1J This adapter does not support electronic communication between an attached camera and lens. To control the amount of light that enters a Sony E-mount camera when using this adapter and a Mamiya 645 AF/AFD lens, an aperture-control ring is built into the adapter which couples with the lens's aperture mechanism so that adjustments to brightness as well as depth-of-field can be made.

Q: 2. Does this maintain electric lense function or is it manual only?

A: This is a manual adapter.

Q: 3. Does this restrict any features or will the camera not tell there's something going on? Basically, is this a good adapter?

A: The only restriction is that the A mount lens would become manual focus only.

Q: 4. Does this adapter allow c-mount lenses to have infinity focus with the Canon EOS-R?

A: All this adapter is doing is making up the flange distance to allow a C-Mount lens to be mounted on an RF-Mount camera. So if the lens you have is a manual focusing lens, you should have the ability to have infinite focus.

Q: 5. Can I use the tilt-shift adapter without the tilt-shift effect? (Just as a regular OM-E adapter)

A: Yes the KIPON Tilt/Shift Lens Mount Adapter for Olympus OM Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera can be used as a regular adapter by not adjusting the tilt or shirt movements.

Q: 6. Will autofocus work with this adapter?

A: Autofocus is not supported by this adapter.

Q: 7. Does this adapter make it possible to capture full frame still images on a Nikon Z6/Z7?

A: Yes.

Q: 8. Will this adapter allow for use with both 907xcv50 electronic shutter and the v lens shutter?

A: When using the the KIPON Lens Mount Adapter for Hasselblad V-Mount Lens to Hasselblad X-Mount Camera, each lens functions solely with the use of the X System and 907X cameras’ electronic shutter feature. The lens' internal shutter would not be used when using the lens adapter.

Q: 9. Will this fit Nikon rangefinder lenses as well?

A: Whether related to patents, differing initial engineering decisions, or by mistake, the rangefinder coupling of the Nikon-S lens mount was slightly different than that of the Contax-RF. The result is that the wide angle Nikon-S lenses, because of their wider depth of field, can interchange between the two types of bodies, but the standard and telephoto lenses cannot. The the Kipon adapter will work with your wider Nikon lenses but not anything above 50mm.

Q: 10. Weight?

A: The KIPON Nikon F Lens to Nikon Z Mount Camera Adapter (B&H# KINIKONNIKZA) is made of brass and aluminum and weighs about 0.25 lb. or 114g.

I purchased the MC-11 to use with the Sigma 150-600 Contemporary on the Sony a6300 and A7Rii. Now that I have the MC-11, I'll have to take a look at other Sigma Contemporary and Art lenses.

Better than the Viltrox II adapter purchased second hand, more compatible with my Canon lenses, especially 17-40mm, 24-105/F4, 24-70mm, 40mmSTM and 28-300mm. AF works very well with those lenses. Do not have experience with Metabones adapter but the Sigma is a good value compared to Metabones. My Sigma 50-500mm OS HSM, also works better than the Viltrox II, but the longer end will AF slow if not enough light. I received the adapter from B+H in just 2 days, super fast international shipping, definitely will buy again from B+H.

I still own the first version of Nex-5. Auto focus on Canon 50mm plastic fantastic is hunting a bit, but I can live with that as I prefer to focus manually anyway. What's great about this is the aperture control and the price is very reasonable.

I have the Sony A7r III with the MC-11 and also the Metabones Smart adapter IV, with Canon and Sigma lenses. My comments only apply to the A7r III (and maybe the A9 that share most of the AF system), any other Sony camera may perform differently. Also, it's extremely importan to constantly update the firmware of the adapters.

The MC-11 works well, almost like a native Sony E lens, but only with Sigma lenses. With Canon glass, the Metabones is much faster and precise. The Sigma lenses work well with both, but the MC-11 has the edge as it enables all the native AF modes and hunts less.

I have been using a Fotodiox Pro converter for years and it worked OK but I got light flares whenever there was a bright light or sun near the edge of the frame. Also the adapter required the A7S to reboot anytime I changed batteries. All these problems are gone with the Sigma MC-11. I am using a Canon 28-105 zoom and the autofocus is still slow but since I use my camera primarily for video I am very pleased.

I use this on my a7rii with a variety of canon lenses, and sigma lenses. I like it better then the metabones and considering the price it helps quite a bit.

I bought this so I could use my new Sigma 150-600mm lens on my Sony A7RII and it does! So far it looks like everything works too like auto focus, drive modes, focus area... Compared to other mounts I have been using this one simply works the best and when attached to my camera it feels like it truly becomes part of the camera and not some cheap mount that wants to come loose. It's supposed to work with all of Sigma's Canon mount Contemporary, Sports and Art lens's but as far as working with Canon lens's I've heard some work but not all. Sigma did a good job with this mount.
