The ET-1004 Travel Aluminum Tripod from Sirui is a 4-section support with a flip leg lock system that you can disengage to give you the ability to extend the legs along with the standard rapid center column to a maximum height of 55.1". With its three variable leg angles and independent leg spread, the tripod's legs can conform to uneven terrain; splaying the tripod's legs out and switching the standard center column to the included short column, the support can go to a minimum height of 5.1". The legs fold in the reverse to a compact 16.5" to travel with the tripod, and the rubber feet on the legs prevent the tripod from sliding on smooth and flat surfaces.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this come with a carry bag ?? J. Payne

A: Unfortunately this tripod does not include a carrying bag.

Q: 2. what are the lengths and diameter of the center columns?

A: The center column of the Sirui ET-2204 Travel Carbon Fiber Tripod has a diameter of 28mm and a length of 9 1/4".

Q: 3. What is the diameter when folded? I think I love this tripod but it needs to fit in a carry-on.

A: The Sirui ET-2204 Travel Carbon Fiber Tripod is about 4.75 inches in diameter and 17 inches long when folded.

Q: 4. Does this come with a carry bag ?? J. Payne

A: Yes it does!

Q: 5. I really like the concept behind this tripod, It will fit in my bag and is a half pound lighter than the 2004. I have two questions 1) I assume I can replace the ballhead (I already have a good Markins one). It doesn't seem they sell them separtely (legs from head). 2) Do you think the setup can stably handle a 150-450mm lens (4.4lbs/2 kg) lens on a smallish SLR body?

A: Ye it can easily handle the setup

Q: 6. One of the legs won't lock and keeps sliding down which makes the tripod useless. I've tried to tighten the screws but that doesn't help.I don't know if I have a receipt or warrantee. Suggestions?

A: Have you talked to the manufacture?

Q: 7. Does this convert to a Monopod? Can it handle Nikkor D750 with 200_500 lens?

A: I don't think it will convert to a monopod.A long lens could work on a 200 to 500 depending on where the mount bracket is. I have a Tokina 150- 500 that I use on a monopod most of the time for sports action it has the mount in the middle and is well balanced

Q: 8. Is this tripod and head strong enough to effectively support a canon 5d Mk iii with a 70-300 L lens?

A: It depends. With the legs outstretched to the widest angle, it's fine with my Canon 5D and Canon 7D with a 100-400mm with and without a 1.4x extender. I use battery grips on both bodies. However, the tripod is wobbly and prone to falling over in the wind when the legs are set at the narrowest angle. I bought mine to use in a blind while shooting wildlife and sometimes use it for macro work. I backpack with mine and haul it around in panniers when cycling. The weight was fairly close to the carbon fiber model of similar design. The build quality is beyond comparison and very durable for a tripod in this price range. I own other tripods from Manfrotto and Gitzo but wanted another tripod to use exclusively in the field.

Q: 9. Does this come with a case for the tripod?

A: The Sirui ET-1204 Travel Carbon Fiber Tripod does include a case.

Q: 10. Does the Sirui ET-2204 have the Spikes built into the feet? Does it come with a Center Hook?

A: As per Sirui, the ET-22-04 does have a hook on the bottom of the center column but it lacks a set of retractable spikes on the feet.
