Q: 1. Is there anything on the other side of the flash drive? I see it says Sandisk on the top, anything written on the bottom? I'd like to custom print on one side if it's blank.

A: None of the images on our site which are supplied by SanDisk show the other side. The images are the same on SanDisk's website so we do not know what is on the other side.

Q: 2. I have a 5yr old laptop w/2.0 A-Ports. Can I extract my folders, music and pictures on this?

A: No. This SanDisk 256GB Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB 3.1 Flash Drive (USB Type-C / Type-A), would not plug directly into a USB 2.0 port.

Q: 3. Is it fast enough to allow working in video edition reading the footage right from this USB-C unit?

A: Although you can probably do some light video editing using a flash drive, it is recommended a more powerful device with sustained writing and reading speed like an ssd or a hard drive.

Q: 4. I can see that the USB type-C part of this "dual" purpose flash drive is male; however, I CANNOT see that the USB type-A part of this flash drive is male. It looks as though it is female. Typically, USB type-A flash drives are male, so that they can be inserted. Please explain ... (?)

A: Both ends of the SanDisk 128GB Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB 3.1 Flash Drive (USB Type-C / Type-A) BH #SADC4128GA46 are male, it will connect to any computer with either a USB Type C or Type A port. The blue line you see in the photo at the oposite end of the type c plug is the Type A male plug and it works just like any others USB Type A plug, the design is a bit different but it is fully compatible.

Q: 5. Will this take 16tb drives?

A: Yes.

Q: 6. Does this dock allow for cloning of drives without need for a computer?

A: No, the OWC Drive Dock USB Type-C Dual Drive Bay Solution BH #OWTCDRVDCK requires being connected to a computer for operation.

Q: 7. Can this be used with the T-5 SSD drives?

A: Unfortunately no, the Oyen Digital Lync USB Type-C to SSD Camera Drive Dock is only compatible with 2.5" SSD drives.

Q: 8. Does the SSD partially protrude out when inserted?

A: Yes, the SSD protrudes when mounted in the Oyen Digital Lync USB Type-C to SSD Camera Drive Dock.

Q: 9. Can this be saved Raw or Jpeg imges?

A: The Oyen Digital Lync USB Type-C to SSD Camera Drive Dock, is intended to be used for Raw Video recording, with compatible cameras. The manufacturer does not recommend its use for photos.

Q: 10. Does this dock support TRIM for SSDs?

A: Support for TRIM is based on the operating system and the SSD manufacturer. Currently, there is no information about TRIM support for the OWC Drive Dock USB Type-C Dual Drive Bay Solution

While I'm on the go during the day I download my media through the micro usb side and in the evening at home connect the usb side to the tv and presto....movies and videos on the big screen tv. 5

If you photograph a lot and have to provide files to various people using Windows and Apple machines, this is the flash drive to use. It is, IMO, the only type of flash drive to buy. 5
