The Ice 58mm UV/IR Cut Filter is an ultraviolet and infrared control filter that is useful for digital cinematography and still photography. While recording video with a CCD or CMOS camera, multi-stop neutral density filters are used to maintain proper exposure by compensating for increased light levels when widening the camera lens' iris to obtain a narrower depth of field. As the increased amount of light passes through multi-stop neutral density filtration, visible light is progressively blocked, while infrared light is allowed to pass through. As the proportion of infrared light that reaches the camera sensor becomes greater, the results can show unwanted color shifts, particularly in dark areas of the frame, such as shadows where the appearance of black is dominant.

When the Ice 58mm UV/IR Cut Filter is applied, ultraviolet light waves and infrared light waves are suppressed, helping to ensure that light falling on a camera sensor is limited to the visible spectrum. When used along with multi-stop neutral density filters, potential infrared color shifts are prevented or minimized, preserving color accuracy throughout the frame. This filter may also be used to help ensure that the appearance of unwanted blue casts is reduced while recording video or still photos under daylight that also features intense ultraviolet light.

This filter cuts UV rays below 390nm and above 750nm, providing 99.4% light transmission between 400-700nm. The front surfaces of the filter include seventy layers of interference coatings, which limit the light that falls on a digital camera sensor to the visible spectrum. This filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity and color fidelity. It features a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy filter ring with front threads for adding additional filters or accessories.

Filters out UV rays below 390nm and above 750nm

Provides 99.4% light transmission between 400-700nm

Suppresses ultraviolet light waves, reducing the bluish cast of daylight when recording video or still photos.

Useful with CCD or CMOS sensors to filter out infrared light pollution that causes color shifts frequently associated with high-definition recording with multi-stop neutral density filters.

Does not require exposure adjustment while in use.

Seventy layers of interference coatings on the front surface limit light that falls on a digital camera sensor to the visible spectrum.

Constructed from optical glass for clarity and color fidelity.

Plastic case included for storage and transport.

The 58mm front filter threads allow use with other filters to protect the front surface or combine with other effects.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Its Suitable for Crasp and Sharp Videos Shoting in Lumix G7

A: Yes.

Q: 2. Does this lens have a third stop of 2.5 between the half stop 2.4 and the full stop 2.8?

A: No, just 2.4,2.8. However, as an additional comment, I would like to add this lens is sharp! It is said to have slow autofocus by some. However, I do not know anyone serious w/ macro wanting autofocus anyway. I have been shooting since 1963, and manual focusing has always worked for me, with few exceptions. Want fancy bells and whistles..pay for it! I'm extremely satisfied w/ Fuji glass and the X-T2. Also have the 16-55 f/2.8 and that baby rocks!

Q: 3. If we already ordered the lens (now that it says currently unavailable) will we still be receiving it by the time frame previously stated?

A: I apologize, but this type of request cannot be taken care of through this feature of our website. Please contact our Customer Service department by entering Live Chat, emailing directly to cs@a href= http://bhphoto.com, target= _blank bhphoto.com,/a or calling us toll-free at 800.221.5743.

Q: 4. What does the SE stand for?

A: SE stands for Special Edition. The Nikon 28mm f/2.8 NIKKOR Z Lens (SE) inherits its design from the classic NIKKOR lenses released around the same time as the Nikon FM2 film SLR camera, with features that faithfully reproduce the designs of that time, such as knurling, and a prominent control ring.

Q: 5. Which E-mount adapter goes with this lens?

A: The Sony E PZ 18-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens has a Sony E-mount. You do not need an adapter. This lens has a small image circle and cannot be used on full frame cameras.

Q: 6. Would this lens work with an A7R III to shoot full frame photos?

A: No, the Sony E PZ 18-105 f/4 G lens will not allow you to shoot Full Frame images. While it functions on the A7R III, it is a APS-C sized lens. You will not be able to shoot at 42 megapixels as the camera will automatically crop to adjust to this lens. Consider the Sony FE 20-70mm f/4 G lens instead since it is a full frame lens.

Q: 7. What's the Maximum Magnification used as a DX lens?

A: Regarding the Nikon NIKKOR Z MC 50mm f/2.8 Macro Lens, the maximum magnification would be 1:1.

Q: 8. Why is this lens so much cheaper that Sony Vario-Tessar T* E 16-70mm f/4 ZA OSS Lens?

A: Love to help but have no idea, best to reach out to Sony directly and/or i have always found the B&H support staff to be very helpful. I can tell you mine is a fantastic lens.good Luck
