Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this product a Headphone Distributor. I need to send one stereo output equally to two stereo headphones?

A: This headphone splitter gives 1/4 male TRS (stereo) to dual 3.5mm female TRS meaning both outs are stereo so it will work with your headphones

Q: 2. Does this convert an unbalanced signal into a balanced signal?

A: Yes it does.

Q: 3. Will this allow me to connect my 3.5mm lav microphones to the XLR ports on either a Tascam DR-40x or Zoom H5 or H6 ?

A: The Switchcraft 318 is for connecting a line out 1/8'' source to an XLR mic input. For an 1/8'' microphone that is battery powered, it would be more ideal to use a Kopul mini to XLR adapter (B&H # KOAXMMF). https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/985832-REG/kopul_a_xmmf_adapter_xlr_male.html If you are using an 1/8'' microphone that is not battery powered and instead uses mic plugin power, then you would use the Rode VXLR Plus adapter with the phantom power on your DR-40X or H5 or H6 turned on (B&H # ROVXLRP). https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1358231-REG/rode_vxlr_mini_jack_to_xlr_adaptor.html

Q: 4. Would this work for a Sennheiser mic k6/me66 to Sony PCM M10 and give balanced output to both L&R ?

A: Im afraid this will not work at all for what you want to do. As its the other way round. The 3.5mm is the input and the XLR is the mic level output. This would be used in a live situation for example where you may have a device that has a 3.5mm output which you plug in the Switchcraft 318 input. Now you can plug the XLR output of the Switchcraft 318 into a snake or stage box to go into the house mixer at mic level.

Q: 5. .Can the RPS Lighting Female 1/8 (3.5 mm) Mini to Male 1/4 (6.35 mm) Mono AdapterB&H # RPRS8610 be used in audio?

A: Yes but is mono audio..no stereo

Q: 6. Will this work for iPhone 15?

A: Yes, the Saramonic 3.5mm TRS Female to USB Type-C Adapter Cable for Mono/Stereo Audio to Android (3"), B&H # SASRC2003, is compatible with the iPhone 15.

Q: 7. I want to connect a laptop to an Anchor AN-130. A direct patch gives me hiss. Connecting two laptops to a switcher and then onto the amp can degrade the signal to uselessness. Will this help with this problem?

A: Yes, the 318 will provide a balanced mic level output so if you use the mic level input on the Anchor it should help eliminate any noise caused by impedance mismatch. You may need to use the ground lift switch on the 318 if there's a hum. It may also be helpful to turn down the treble control on the Anchor speaker slightly.

Q: 8. is this cable compatible with Grado headphones?

A: Assuming you have a 1/4" plug on the headphones (most Grado's do) it will fit and work.

Q: 9. Can this be used for audio from Android to headphones?

A: Yes the Saramonic 3.5mm TRS Female to USB Type-C Adapter Cable for Mono/Stereo Audio to Android (3") can be used for audio from Android to headphones.

Q: 10. I bought this to use with Tascam DR-40 and Audio Technica AT8024. The input level is too low for recording even with maxed out preamp level. How do I use this combo? Is this adapter right for AT8024?

A: The Tascam DR-40 only accept mic level devices via its XLR inputs. This adapter is incorrect. To connect the AT8024 in mono to the recorder, you would require an XLR adapter such as the Kopul A-XMMF. To use the mic in stereo, you will need a stereo mini to dual XLR Y cable such as the Kopul SMYC-M2XM06 and then an additional 3.5mm stereo turnaround adapter to connect to the mic. See the Hosa Technology GMM303.

this is just a simple adapter that allows me to plug in my wireless trigger receiver into my old flash power supply that only takes the two prong househould cable. So it either works or it doesn't and in this case it works.Check out my work at www.johnvelocci.com

If you like me, and sooner or later end up with different manufacturers strobes you will need this simple and indispensable solution. I still wonder why there is not one type of standard plug (s) for all strobes, or both types on all strobes, till it happens, it is your only reliable solution to get your job done.
