If you have EF lenses and the R series cameras, you need this adapter. The RF lenses have a built in control ring and you will get use to it and program a favorite function on the ring. The control ring on the adapter is then a plus because you will need it. 5

This is a great way to get my EF glass to work on my R5 but I wish I had simply bought the adapter that doesn't have the control ring. At first I thought this would be a great way to have my digital lenses act like my old film cameras in which I adjusted aperture on the lens. However I now find it just as easy to use the controls on the camera back for both aperture and shutter speed. But still a solid, reliable adapter. 5

When I purchased my Canon EOS R5, the Canon adapter ring was on backorder. So, I ordered the 3rd party Viltrox EF-R2 Canon EF Lens to Canon RF Camera Mount Adapter. The Viltrox adapter did work and communicated well, but it was slightly less than a great fit. I ordered the Canon Adapter when it became available. The Canon adapter fits more precisely/securely. And, autofocus and communication with the Canon is noticeably superior to the Viltrox. On the Canon adapter, I do like and use the control ring for easy adjustment of ISO. 5
