Q: 2. I have read in forums that Manfrotto fluid heads created in the last few years were not designed to be real fluid heads, instead I have been told that they are friction heads. A: Yes, this head does have fluid in it. Manfrotto has informed us that this head does use fluid and that the viscosity of the fluid is one of the things they have improved. This leads to it working much better in lower temperatures.

A: On the sales floor at our NYC Superstore we have this model on display in the Pro Video department. Though this may not have been a production application, I have handled this model almost once a week to demonstarte to customers when this model was first released, and a lot of times customers handling it themselves exploring the Nitrotech feature of the head and it is still kicking strong.

A: It will not. The load needs to be between 8.8 to 26.4 lb / 4 to 12 kg for the camera to properly balance. The only way you'd be able to use the head would be with it locked down, making it so you cannot pan and tilt for a shot.
