Covering a versatile telephoto range, the XF 55-200mm f/3.5-4.8 R LM OIS from FUJIFILM is an 84-305mm-equivalent zoom well-suited for sports, event photography, and portraiture. Its optical design incorporates two extra-low dispersion elements and one aspherical element, which help to reduce a variety of aberrations in order to achieve greater clarity and sharpness. A Super EBC coating also helps to suppress flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color accuracy when working in bright and backlit conditions. Complementing the optics, an optical image stabilization system minimizes the appearance of camera shake by 4.5 stops in order to achieve sharper handheld photos. A: My lens did not have the latest firmware, but I suppose that will depend on the date of manufacture for the lens that you receive and when the latest firmware update was made. Therefore, it is probably irrelevant to ask the question.Nevertheless, the latest firmware is available for download at Fujifilm's website and the update is super simple. The instruction manual does a poor job explaining the process, but there are you tube videos about 2 minutes long that will show you exactly how to do it. BTW - I love the camera and the lens!

This is a perfect addition to my camera bag. I have the 18-55 2.8 that came with the camera, and then this to give me some extra reach until I can get the 100-400 lens. Crisp shots, am enjoying the whole Fuji system. 5

For reference, I'm mainly a Nikon guy the the D850 and 2.8 zooms being primary glass. I bought a Fuji XT-2 as a walk around camera with the 16-55 2.8 lens and the 10-24 f/4 lens. Bought this to complete this lighter kit and had limited expectations. Actually the image quality, focus speed, and IS is quite good, better than I expected. Obviously it's not the 50-140 2.8 but it's not supposed to be. If I want that heft I'll carry the Nikon gear. Build quality is consistent with other fuji lenses(quite good). Overall pleased with the purchase, just know what you're getting. 5

This lens is surprisingly sharp. The OIS is brilliant and gives consistently sharp images at all focal lengths. I usually shoot around 135mm because most similar lenses are soft at the longest focal length. Not true with this lens. It is tack sharp at 200mm. The colors and contrast are also top notch and the AF is decent in good light but does suffer in low light. Overall this is a fantastic lens for travel because it is not too big. It is also great for sports, wildlife, landscape and portraits. This lens is a keeper. 5

This lens is everything they say it is. I am blown away by the sharpness, the bokeh, and especially the OIS. You shouldn't be able to hand-hold a lens this big at very slow shutter speeds, but you can! Which means the lack of a 2.8 aperture is less of a concern to me.� This lens is a bargain -- especially on sale. So glad I added it to my arsenal. 5

I read a lot of reviews and everybody says sharp, sharp, sharp. I totally agree and as for when there is less light and focus speed, one has to use common sense, but fast enough for me . I do not think night sports fast under low lighting, but some fields use better lighting and it focuses fast. 5
