Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Ghost Eye 150m receiver (only) come with it's own hard case?

A: It does not come with a case.

Q: 2. Does the unit transmit the sdi record flag? Or does it get lost in the compression?

A: If you are referring to an SDI signals ability to trigger an external recording device than more than likely that will not travel over in this system.

Q: 3. This unit is compatible with cameras blackmagic 2.5k, 4K, Ursa, Ursa mini, Sony FS7, FS5, FS700, EX3, and all RED ???Do you have any feedback on the reliability of this product?

A: Since this unit has both SDI and HDMI inputs and can read all common FPS rates, we are of the opinion that this should work with all of the cameras you mentioned. No feedback here yet as to reliability.

Q: 4. Will this work in a heavily saturated area of wireless signals (internet, audio, video)? I am trying to use it in a college basketball arena in a game day atmosphere and have fallen short with other products due to interference.

A: The Cinegears Ghost-Eye 150m has a 492' range and works over a frequency band that runs from 5.1 to 5.9 GHz. You should be able to find a channel that will work for you. However this product runs on a public, license free frequency band. The only way to see if it will work in a particular area is to actually test it out and adjust the settings. This is a returnable item if it does not work for you.

Q: 5. Is this kit working smoothly and well by sending the signal from the hdmi out port of the atomos ninja flame ? (I know for example that paralinx have some compatibilities problems) Thanks!

A: We have not heard of configuration problems such as you mentioned. That is not to say they do not exist but that we have not heard of them. We can say we see no glaring reasons why this would not work as you wish.

Q: 6. Hi, what about the fan noise ??? Like the 600MP ??? Can we turn off the transmitter fan ???

A: There is close to no noise when using the following units but the units are know to warm up over a long duration of item.

Q: 7. One of my trans/recvrs is dropping signal alot... just purchased less than month? What # can i call to get support??

A: I had a problem like that, I tried changing channels and this didn't work. I found out that it was another unit trying to connect to my receiver. I asked the owner of the other unit to turn off his for 5 minutes, he did and it aloud my transmitter to have a perfect connection. After this happen they turn on the other unit and we were able to work until the end of the production, which it was a week. Keep in mind that mine needed to be connected first. I hope this helps.

Q: 8. What about the fan noise ??? Like the 600MP?? Can we turn the fan receivers off ??

A: Existing reports says there is fan noise. Whether it is objectionable depends on the situation and the user. You may need to move the devices, possibly with a cable, away from microphones. Fans are in place to protect the device. Shutting them off would result in device failure.

Q: 9. I operate in Africa, where 99% of the walls are concrete/mason type walls. Within a short range, say 20 meters, will the signal punch through the wall (Assume 9 wall)?

A: With wireless video transmission devices there is a line of sight figure with no obstructions and a non line of sight figure for when there is obstructions. Non line of sight transmission is generally half that of line of sight. For short ranges such as 20 meters you should be able to have the signal pass through obstructions such as the ones you listed.

Q: 10. What's the difference between this and Version 1?

A: For anyone interested, I asked Cinegears and this is what they told me; V2 kits all offer at least double the range of of the previous kit versions, but all V2 units are backwards compatible with the original series. The kits also feature more advanced mounting options, including an articulated arm and a versatile mounting clamp.
