The xVision Video Converter with SDI Audio Embedder from Theatrixx Technologies is designed to be used while on the road. It features an integrated power supply with a locking powerCON connector and a built-in AC outlet to power a nearby projector, TV, or laptop. There is an SDI input, HDMI input, an SDI output, and two balanced, 4 dB XLR analog audio inputs each with a 3-segment LED meter. This converter combines analog audio with incoming HDMI or SDI into the reclocked SDI output with automatic input detection. It can be mounted using a C-clamp, wall-mount adapter, LCD mount adapter, or belt adapter (available separately).

A: Make sure you've got your dip settings correct for the type of audio, aes/ebu or analog and you're decoding the correct channels your audio is on. You should play around with your dip switch settings and try different configurations.

Q: 3. The manual implies this is "yes" but I'd like confirmation. After embedding 8 channels of AES/EBU into SDI on Channels 1-8, can I output the SDI into another BMD Audio to SDI Mini and embed another 8 channels of AES/EBU audio into 9-16... outputting a single SDI cable with all 16 channels of AES and video?

A: Absolutely, I do this quite often. Just some simple dip switch settings.

A: Yes, you can separate them.

A: Sample Rate Conversion should almost always enabled to ensure audio is embedded at the correct sample rate for television (48 kHz).

Q: 6. Can you delay the audio to sync with the video? Looking to use without a computer. Audio from Mixer and Video from PTZ Camera. I will need to sync the audio, can this be done?

A: From working with this device, there is no way of delaying the audio source at all.. You can change the setting to where the analog audio is being set to the SDI stream. Like 1-4 or 5-8, etc Hope this helps.

Q: 7. I see there are mini switches on this, what numbers to do you have on?

A: This all depends on your particular usage of the device. - Do you want to get analog or AES audio from it? Dipswitch #8 determines which one is output. - An SDI signal can carry up to 16 channels of audio - but this device can only output 4 for analog and 8 for AES at a time - so dipswitches #5 & 6 determine which group of audio channels is output.In my particular usage for this device - I want analog audio - channels 1-4 from the unit. So I leave all 8 dipswitches in the OFF position.

A: Yes this will work. You have an SDI signal you want to add audio.
