Electro-harmonix Nano Battalion Bass Preamp And Overdrive Pedal

  • Availability: In Stock

$399.90 $611.85

Designed for electric bass players, the Electro-Harmonix Nano Battalion is a bass preamp, overdrive, and EQ pedal. It sports a MOSFET drive circuit that can give you a subtle growl or a heavily saturated overdrive. Set the drive knob however you like, and then mix it in with clean signal using the Blend knob. A Tone knob mitigates brightness in the distorted signal path.

The Nano Battalion's EQ circuit can be switched into the signal path in three different places. You can affect only the drive circuit, the clean signal, or both together by means of the EQ Position switch. The EQ itself sports knobs for bass and treble and a switch for the midrange. Turn the effect on with the engage/bypass footswitch.

The Nano Battalion accepts 1/4" instrument inputs, and its 1/4" output can provide both unbalanced TS connections to amplifiers or balanced TRS connections to mixing consoles, DI Boxes, and house PA systems. A power supply is included.

  • Volume knob: sets master output level of the pedal.
  • Blend knob: sets the ratio between clean signal and distorted signal. Turn BLEND up for more distorted signal.
  • Drive knob: sets the intensity and saturation of the distortion.
  • Tone knob: cuts high frequencies from the distortion as you turn the knob down.
  • Treble knob: boosts or cuts high end. There’s no effect when the knob is at 50%. This knob boosts or cuts frequencies starting above 1 kHz. This maximum boost/cut is about ±12 dB around 5 kHz.
  • Bass knob: control boosts or cuts low end. There’s no effect when the knob is at 50%. This knob boosts or cuts frequencies starting below 200 Hz. This maximum boost/cut is about ±12 dB 60Hz.
  • Mid switch: has no effect when the switch is in the middle position. In the upwards position, there is a 9 dB boost around 500 Hz. In the downwards position, there is a 9 dB cut around 500 Hz.
  • EQ Position switch: determines where the EQ controls (bass, middle, treble) falls in the Nano Battalion's signal path. In all cases, the Tone control comes immediately after the distorted signal, and the Volume control is last in the signal path. There are three EQ POS modes.
  • Bypass footswitch: press the footswitch to toggle between effect on and bypass.

  • Distortion mode: the EQ circuit comes after the distortion signal, having a strong effect on its sound. The clean signal is not affected by the EQ at all.
  • Input mode: the EQ circuit comes first in the signal path, affecting both the clean signal and the signal fed into the distortion. Boosting frequencies in this mode can help drive the distortion signal to a more saturated tone.
  • Dry mode: the EQ affects the clean signal but doesn’t affect the distorted signal at all.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a compatible receiver unit with an HDMI output that can be paired with this unit?

A: The Accsoon CineView Nano Wireless Video Transmitter does not have a compatible receiver unit as it is designed to be used with mobile devices only. A kit that includes a transmitter and receiver that would provide HDMI output would be the Accsoon CineView SE Multi-Spectrum Wireless Video Transmission System, BH #ACCVSE.

Q: 2. Can you have a USB-C connected for power and an L-Series battery attached at the same time?

A: Yes, the Accsoon CineView Nano Wireless Video Transmitter can be connected to USB-C power and an L-Series battery at the same time with no issue. The battery can be hot swapped when connected to USB-C power.

Q: 3. can you hook it up to an external monitor and stream it to a phone at the same time?

Q: 9. How bright is the on board IPS Touchscreen? Can it be clearly seen in direct, mid-day sun?

A: The iFootage Shark Slider Nano Bundle (B&H# IFN1B) does have an IPS touchscreen. However, the main benefit of that type of screen is the saturation of the colors and viewing angle of the screen, which is excellent. It is bright enough for normal use, but it will not rival the brightness of bright monitors. On those rare occasions when it's used bright sunlight, you may need to shade it from the sun's direct rays (say, cupping your hand around it) to read it.

Q: 10. If the track length is 16.6" and the travel distance is 7.9", does that mean the slider has an effective slide distance of about 25"?

A: When mounted on a flat surface the slide distance is 7.9 inches When mounted on a tripod the slide distance is 15.76 inches.
