Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does this product act as a mixer that can increase the signal to noise ratio, too?

A: As a passive mixer, the Movo Photo AM100 2-Channel TRS 3.5mm Microphone Audio Mixer would only act to combine two battery-powered microphones—one to the left channel and the other to the right channel—to adjust the level between them. It would not act to increase the signal-to-noise ratio the way an active mixer would.

Q: 2. Can I input a wired shotgun mic on input 1/L and a wireless lav on input 2/R then mix the two inputs to a mono mix and feed this mix to bout output channels to my camera?

A: Yes. Mono is on the Menu; on page 17 of manual: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1084690-REG/tascam_dr_60mkii_portable_recorder_for_dslr.html

Q: 3. do you get all four of the outputs from the usb?

A: According to page 05 in the manual, you would get a single stereo (left and right) channel output via USB into your computer. https://www.azden.com/wp-content/uploads/pdf/FMX-42a_42u.pdf

Q: 4. What is this generally used for?

A: The Tascam DR-60DmkII 4-Input / 4-Track Multitrack Field Recorder BH #TADR60DMKII is highly recommended for Filmmaking, TV, and Web Broadcast. It could also be used for HOW applications , meetings and most general recording applications.

Q: 5. What are the speed requirements for SD/SDHC cards when recording all four channels at the highest quality settings?

A: Any class 10 SDHC card from a quality manufacturer like SanDisk, Delkin, Lexar, SONY Trancend, etc. will provide enough speed for any recording mode on this recorder.

Q: 6. Does this provide plug-in power to microphones?

A: We can find no support that the Insta360 3.5mm Mic Adapter with Charging Input for ONE X2 provides plug in power for a microphone.

Q: 7. Will this adapter also work in the Insta 360 One R Model, I am trying to get a Saramonic SR-XM1 with TRS pole to work in my Insta 360 One r ?

A: Unfortunately no. The Insta360 3.5mm Mic Adapter with Charging Input for ONE X2 will only work as a mic adapter for the ONE X2.

Q: 8. Can this be used with a mirrorless camera?

A: Yes, the TASCAM DR-60DmkII 4-Input / 4-Track Multitrack Field Recorder can be used with a mirrorless camera that has a 3.5mm mic input.

Q: 9. What type of mic inputs does this unit have? Does it offer phantom power for microphones?

A: The Azden FMX field mixer has 4 XLR inputs with phantom power along with 2 balanced Mic/Line XLR Outputs. And 1 USB output.

Q: 10. Can this be used to input audio to an iPhone 14?

A: The TASCAM DR-60DmkII 4-Input / 4-Track Multitrack Field Recorder's direct output could technically be connected to an iPhone 14 by using a 3.5mm TRS to TRRS adapter cable and a 3.5mm TRRS to Lightning adapter.

Use it on audio for video. Pre-amps are superior to Behringer Xenyx board I was using. Like the built in limiter and duplication feature. Feeds cleaner audio to my camera and gives me even cleaner back-up files to use if needed. The slating feature makes synching up audio files easy. Only used it for one, 10 minute video so far but if it holds up will be well worth the money. Haven't found anything I don't like about it except the documentation is amazingly poor for Tascam products. How can they create such a poor manual but go out of their way to translate it into numerious languages? Hey, Tascam, is it too much to ask that you create an accurate, comprehensive manual?

Upgraded from the Zoom h1, decided to get away from Zoom for my next recorder and went to BH and realized the Tascam was a better fit for me.

This is a wonderful product, functions exceptionally well. Takes time to get used to as a beginner in the audio department but quickly scimming the instruction manual helped find problems that's needed answers.

A little difficult to learn, but plenty of good you tube directions. Very versatile and works great with wireless mics. I use it all the time now.

This is a great piece of audio kit! I bought this to provide pro-quality audio to my prosumer video cameras. Sure the sound quality on the cameras is passable for recreational use but the Tascam provides sensational sound as an external recorder. I would recommend using proper XLR cables for the one or two mics (even though it's a four channel recorder -- the mini-jacks (3.5mm) are prone to cause buzz. The price is very affordable for even a novice videographer.

Needed an audio recorder for film making with a DSLR. The price of this combined with the features made it a great purchase. I'm beyond happy with it.

I've started exploring digital film making and quickly discovered that the audio portion of creating a video was going to be challenging with my 5D Mark III. I looked at all of the options out there that offered preamp and mixing capability but candidly was frightened by the price points until I found the DR-60. The unit works brilliantly and solves 95% of the issues that I was trying to find a solution to. So from a technical perspective this item was a 10 out of 10. Some of the big kids are critical of the fact that it has a plastic case but it's perfectly fine for me. Maybe someday when I intend to remake Star Wars Episode 63 I'll need something better but for what I'm doing it's perfect especially given it's price point. Now the bad news... the manual is useless if you don't speak audio. It's filled with techno speak about if you want to increase this turn that dial etc. What it doesn't do is give you a simple set of instructions regarding first use. Plug this in there, turn that dial, and shoot. After many hours of scratching my head (particularly regarding the use of a lavaliere microphone in channels 3 and 4) I finally hear noise. I felt like Edison discovering the phone. Bottom line is if you're a newbie like me you'll be searching YouTube (fortunately there's plenty of info) to find out how to use the darn thing. Bottom line, great tool. Go get it and don't be intimidated by what the techno purists tell you. If you have modest needs this unit works just fine. That said, have modest expectations to go along with your modest budget. You'll be more than happy.
