Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a desk insert accessory that takes the place of the vice mount, for permanent mounting, like the PSA-1 comes with? If not what is the diameter of the anchor and will it work with the PSA-1 permanent desk insert?

A: No, the c-clamp is fixed to the arm.

Q: 2. For those of us that use the highest end XLR cables. Is removing and replacing the included and preinstalled XLR cable difficult?

A: It is not very difficult to replace the cable, but you might want to consider an uncabled arm like the Blue Compass that is designed to use your own cable, and has a channel to keep things neat. You can also easily adjust the tension on the hinges. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1385876-REG/blue_compass_desktop_boom_arm.html

Q: 3. Are there any pictures of this unit mounting on a desk. The [Overview] button is grayed out and there is no description for this boom. How does my Electro Voice RE320 shock mount fit on this boom?

A: Unfortunately those are the only photos we have. You can find more images on the OC White website. Your shock mount will mount to the broadcast arm with a standard 5/8" threaded stud.

Q: 4. Would this work with the hyper x quadcast s mic? I mean as far as being able to hold it good enough as it is a very heavy microphone

A: Yes, the O.C. White Podcast Pro Mic Boom Package by Accu-Lite is compatible for use with the HyperX QuadCast S USB Condenser Microphone. The boom arm can support a loud of 1.4 to 2.5 pounds and the microphone weighs 1.6 pounds.

Q: 5. Can anyone explain this to me please?Frequency response20-20kHz +0.5/-2dB(LINE IN or MIC IN to LINE OUT, Fs44.1k/48k Hz, JEITA)20-40kHz +0.5/-3dB(LINE IN or MIC IN to LINE OUT, Fs96kHz, JEITA)

A: The frequency responses listed are based on different sampling rates with different measurement variables to offer the most honest ratings.

Q: 6. Does anyone know why Alkaline batteries are recommended instead of lithium?

A: Litium batteries may be used as well: Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA Batteries (1.5V, 3500mAh, 4-Pack) B&H # ENAALU4: https://bhpho.to/2UQXceR Key Features: Weighs 33% Less Than Alkaline Batteries Holds Power for 20 Years Operating Temperature: -40 to 140°F Leakproof Construction

Q: 7. Is the line out to camera a stereo or mono signal?

A: The Tascam DR-70D features a 3.5mm stereo camera output. The unit is capable of outputting stereo or a dual mono signal to the camera.

Q: 8. Question about input sources: under Basic menu, are you able to set CH1 to EXT_Power and CH2 to XLR? Everything I change CH1, CH2 changes to the same thing. Same with CH3/4. I can't have CH3 set to Mic and CH4 set to XLR.

A: I don't think that's possible since the non-XLR inputs are balanced stereo jacks. I'd assume channel separation is only possible with recorders featuring separate, unbalanced pairs of TRS inputs.

Q: 9. How wide does the clamp open up to?

A: This clamp is for a 1.5-inch thick desktop, but can open up to almost 2-inches.

Q: 10. All this does is stand straight up how do I adjust the tension?

A: The weight of the microphone is enough to prevent it from standing straight up. This works with most mics but it is possible you are using a mic that is too light for the arm.
