Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. hola buenos dias,vivo en cancun,me interesa el amplificador yamaha r-s202,trabja a120 voltios?

A: 120 volt only.

Q: 2. Does this amplifier can be used for bose acoustimass 2speaker system?

A: Yes you can. I just looked at the Bose Manual online and after you follow the directions for connecting the satelite spkrs to the main unit, you just connect the Left and Right of the main unit to the R-S202 L & R spkr outputs!!! Have Fun

Q: 3. Will this work/drive vintage wired speaker like JBL100 loud speaker w/o any additional amplification?

A: Yes it will: Power Rating 240 W @ 8 Ohms

Q: 4. Can channel A and B play different sources at the same time?

A: No it cannot.

Q: 5. connecting R-S202 to Pioneer FS52 Floor standing speakers should I use regular wiring or bi-wiring? Which is one is better?

A: The Yamaha R-S202 Stereo Receiver with Bluetooth (Black), B&H # YARS202BL, should sound more or less identical regardless of whether it has standard wiring or bi-wiring. Bi-wiring can potentially reduce resistance within the wiring, but this difference would likely not be audible on any equipment being used outside of a professional studio, and therefore wouldn't make much of a difference on this particular receiver.

Q: 6. Can I hook a pre amp to this?

A: Yes, you can connect the pre-amp to one of its Line-in connections. I am currently using a turntable with a built-in pre-amp to a Line-in connection, works great.

Q: 7. How many bluetooth devices will this remember without having to re-pair?

A: This stereo receiver doesnt need to remember anything. The device that connects to it needs to remember it, not the other way around. You can connect as many devices as you have.

Q: 8. The R-S202 is right for my needs, simple, powerful, and bluetooth, but has no subwoofer out, so a sub would be wired via high level speaker outs, which is supposed to be the least prefered connection for a sub, any thoughts or experience with this? Thanks.

A: That would not be ideal but you can try going from the Line Out into an active subwoofer with RCA inputs or 1/8'' input.

Q: 9. Is the 100W RMS or peak?

A: That would be RMS. The Yamaha R-S202 can deliver 100 W per channel continuous power at 8 Ohms.

Q: 10. does is play music C D's?

A: Not without an auxiliary CD player which could be plugged into it.

This replaces a 40 year old Denon receiver. I hooked up my Genesis speakers and the sound quality was as good as from the Denon! I love the Bluetooth capabilities as much of my music is on my iPhone. I am very pleased with my purchase!

After some research I purchased this receiver to replace a 40-year-old receiver that stopped working. I primarily wanted a receiver that was easily compatible with my existing speakers and turntable, both also 40 years old. This unit was very easy to set up and makes my old stereo set sound great! I wasn't sure about the Bluetooth feature, but after pairing my tablet with it, streamed music sounds great as well. I preset the few FM stations I receive in my mountainous area and found that process easy as well. This receiver is plenty powerful for my needs and sounds great. I like being able to use the remote for everything but changing albums. With several additional inputs available, I may even add a CD player to play my collection of those. If you need an affordable, easy to set up and use receiver/amplifier, look no further than this unit.
