Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work/drive vintage wired speaker like JBL100 loud speaker w/o any additional amplification?

A: Yes it will: Power Rating 240 W @ 8 Ohms

Q: 2. In which country is this amp manufactured?

A: It is manufactured in Japan.

Q: 3. Can you play different sources on channel A and B at the same tine?

A: No it cannot.

Q: 4. Does the Line in connections work with a Bose Series 4 Equalizer? Mine doesn't. I think my equalizer might be bad. My old receiver failed that had tape in out connections.

A: In the traditional receiver there is a tape monitor feature allowing an equalizer to be connected to the input and output RCA connectors. You would then use the equalizer to connect your tape deck. This receiver has no provision for this traditional equalizer circuit. There are three lines available...DVD player, CD recorder, and tape deck...there is no tape monitor button or selector. Only one source is available at a time. I would suggest that you look for a receiver which has a tape monitor button as well as inputs and outputs utilizing the RCA jack feature.

Q: 5. what is the warranty?

A: This will come with a Limited 2-Year Warranty from the manufacturer.

Q: 6. I am surprised to notice that practically there is no sound until the volume is raised to 40 to 45. Is this a device problem or normal for this product?

A: It may vary somewhat depending on the connected speakers and listening mode. Try headphones also.

Q: 7. Is the 100W RMS or peak?

A: That would be RMS. The Yamaha R-S202 can deliver 100 W per channel continuous power at 8 Ohms.

Q: 8. This may sounds like an odd question, but are the feet removable? The only way this will fit in my cabinet is to remove the feet.

A: Yes you can remove the feet on the Yamaha R-S202.

Q: 9. What is the best way to connect R-S202 to Pioneer FS52 Floor Standing Speakers, using regular wiring or bi-wiring?

A: The choice and preference is totally up o you. Proponents of the practice point to the obvious sonic benefits they can hear after bi-wiring their speakers, citing the fact that speaker manufacturers make the terminals available, as proof that there must be something in it. Detractors argue that manufacturers are merely maximising the marketability of their products by offering a feature that costs little extra to implement but probably doesn’t make any sonic difference. They also point out that there is no real published evidence to prove that the practice makes any audible difference, whereas the bi-wire enthusiasts theorise that by separating the high and low frequencies into different wires, distortions caused by interactions between them can be eliminated.

Q: 10. will this unit transmit audio to bluetooth speakers?

A: No it doesn't

Before I get ire from the true heavy duty audio folks, let me explain my rating. The fine folks at B&H had this in my hands in 2 days, it was under $200 and took literally seconds to set up. Do I own a Hint 6 from Parasound? YES Is this at the same level, NO. BUT, and here is a big BUT, it also cost 1/10th. This would be great in a family room, or teens room. Just a super value. And it still pushes good sound to my JBL 100s. Buy it if you are on a budget, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Take care everyone.

This receiver meets my needs. I was able to use my 18 year old B&W subwoofer using the receiver's A speaker outputs to the sub woofer and the subwoofer speaker outputs to my Boston acoustics satellite speakers (would have been slightly easier with a subwoofer out). that left the B speaker outputs for another pair of speakers on my back porch. The only other wish would be for a zone two output (pre amp out) that works with all line in equipment including Phono and not just #4. Sound is great, simple to set up and simple to use. I would buy it again.

Great unit, glad I bought this one. Good buy for the price. Having the capability to have a turntable as an input was the major reason I got this.

Ya can't ask for more from a low-cost Sony amp/receiver! Great clarity, easy functions (both on the unit and on the remote), good punch on both high and low end. LOVE it!

I had bought some speakers a while back that had great reviews so I finally decided to buy them. I was so disappointed. I tried breaking them in, changing room design, getting a sub woofer and still was disappointed. I was about to return them when I decided that maybe my old receiver needed to change. I looked on youtube and watch hundreds of reviews on audio receivers. But one just kept showing up with great reviews saying not only was this receiver great, the price was great too. So I purchased the Sony STR-DH190. All I could say was UNBELIEVABLE! My speakers came to life. The imaging was perfect, upper and lower was great, mid-range was awesome. Every recording sounded like they were in the room. I even heard instruments I never heard before. So I thought well that's crazy, So I invited my older son to listen to his favorite song on my new system. His reaction was, "I'm hearing instuments I never heard before and the imaging is nuts." All I can say Sony is thanks for making a superior product at a great price.

My last Sony died after 27 rocking great
years.
Very satisfied with this one. The Bluetooth
feature is a plus too. (Bluetooth didn’t exist when
I bought the last one!)

This stereo receiver checks off all the features we need. The first selling points were the Bluetooth and FM receiver and the ability to connect to the room's built-in speakers in a small compact unit. It is a perfect size.
