A: The Rode ZP2 pouch can hold the VideoMic Pro+, but customers find that it is very difficult to get the mic inside and then even more difficult to zip the pouch so it closes. Instead of the ZP2, I would recommend the Auray WMC-100 Wide Mouth Case (B&H # AUWMC100) or Auray WMC-500 Wide-Mouth EVA Case (B&H # AUWMC500) instead. A: New items made of vinyl can emit a strong odor, especially when they are removed from their packaging for the first time. The best way to reduce the odor is to let it air out overnight or longer in a well ventilated area like outdoors in fresh air. You can also try washing it using warm water and a bit of dish soap or diluted laundry detergent and then give it time to dry and air out in fresh air. Another thing you can try is to sprinkle baking soda on one side and leave it overnight to absorb the odor, then do the same on the other side. Turn it inside out and do the same, if needed. It may take some time, perhaps a few days, but the odor will subside as the vinyl is exposed to air.
