Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Anybody using this lens with 2X III? I'm wondering whether AF microadjustment is needed with this combo.

A: I have not used it for 2x.

Q: 2. Can I use it for live stream video?

A: The DJI Pocket 2 Do-It-All Handle will provide wireless connectivity to a smart device, to then wirelessly stream via the DJI Mimo app.

Q: 3. I have a Wimberley WH-200 gimbal head. Which quick release plate will fit on the 400 DO II?

A: The hood still fits when reversed with the RRS replacement foot.

Q: 4. why would i purchase this lens instead of the 500mm L?

A: Portability. It is equal in sharpness to my 500L IS (the first version, which is a great lens), but weighs half of the larger lens. It loses nothing to a 1.4x extender (except a stop of light), so at 560mm and f/5.6, I have a lightweight lens I can carry through the woods all day. When I expect to be tethered to a tripod without having to move much, I'll use the 500, but to be honest, I haven't mounted it since September when I received the 400 DO II. I'm 60 years old and no longer able to schlep the 500 around like I used to...

Q: 5. Does any 400 mm DO owner know what the outside diameter of the black ring at the front of the lens is? I'm renting one of these for the up coming eclipse. I want to get a solar filter for the front of the lens but I have no way of knowing what the diameter in millimeters is so I can purchase the right size solar filter from B&H of course. Thanks everyone.

A: I'm not positive of the black ring referred to in the question. As far as I can tell, the front of my lens is not threaded and would not accept a screw-in filter. If the filter in question slips on over the lens' exterior, then I get diameters of approx 117 and 144mm, respectively, for the lens itself and its hood. Might be safest to see and measure the lens to be rented.

Q: 6. It has headphone output?

A: The DJI Pocket 2 Do-It-All Handle will accept headphones via 3.5mm connection that works for both external microphones and headphones.

Q: 7. How would you say the 400 f/4 DO II compares to the 300mm f/2.8 in terms of sharpness & bokeh? Trying to decide between the two and am inclined to more reach available in the 400mm.

A: The Canon EF 400mm f/4 Do IS II USM lens is so new there are no real world reviews on it yet. It is at this time in pre-order. So there is no comparison made yet on that and the Canon 300mm f/2.8 lens, a href= http://bhpho.to/1xyjxIi. target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1xyjxIi./a In general a shorter lens can be sharper than a longer lens. And a lens with a wider f/stop usually has more bokeh effect unless it is a very wide lens.

Q: 8. Does this lens come with the Hood?

A: Yes, this lens comes with the Canon ET-120W II lens hood.

Q: 9. Why has this lens just been labelled 'new release' and coming soon? Its been out for ages now.

A: It's been out for a year, but dealer stock is still low. For some reason Canon is not producing a lot of them. Could be a part supplier or some other reason. It has been a great lens for me!

Q: 10. what size is the thread on the tripod foot?

A: 1/4
