In The Portrait, 2nd Edition: Understanding Portrait Photography from Rocky Nook, photography educators Glenn Rand and Tim Meyer have collaborated to create a thorough and balanced textbook on the modern techniques and practices of portrait photography. Designed for professionals, students, and avid amateurs wishing to advance their skills in this discipline, Glenn and Tim begin by discussing lessons from the masters and the history of photographic portraiture. They then build on this foundation and cover the technical and aesthetic components of producing outstanding portraits. Extensive illustrations illuminate the concepts throughout the text, and the works of outstanding photographers serve as examples of how to apply the lessons outlined in the book. Additionally, this second edition offers new illustrations and photographic examples and features an expanded discussion about posing. If you're looking to better understand portrait photography and take your photographic skills to the next level, this book is intended for you.

I don't want the flash to fall off as it has in the past. Can you assist?
A: I honestly don't know what would work. I use the Joby heads personally.
Q: 2. Is the hot shoe mount metal or plastic for the flash and transmitter?
A: The flash units have a metal hot shoe with a rubber/plastic locking collar. It is very solid and secure. I do not have a trigger attachment as it is controlled by my camera, but imagine it is also metal..
Q: 3. Is there an external battery pack for this? (similar to the Nikon SD-9)
A: Yes there is. I use the cyclone PP-4000R with the Nikon power cord for it. You can purchase it seperately. Works great.
Q: 4. Can you trigger the same off-camera Phottix-Mitros+ from two different masters (on separate cameras)?
A: Yes you can, just have the flashes in the same group and channel. By number of masters can fire it, just be sure to give long enough for them to recharge for the next shot.
Q: 5. is it compatible with nikon df, sorry didnt know this is the canon version. i was brought by a nikon link here. does the nikon mitros + work with nikon df.tq
A: Yes, the Phottix Mitros+ TTL Flash for Nikon will be fully compatible with the Nikon Df. You can find the Nikon version of this flash here: http://bhpho.to/1famKbm
Q: 6. does this flashes work with Sony cameras full frame ??
A: Hi, this flash is only compatible with Canon cameras.
Q: 7. Do I need to buy anything else to use this with a Canon 5d MIII?
A: As a simple flash on the camera no.If you want to use it as a remote, radio-triggered flash, you need a transmitter. Either the Odin II Transmitter (Odin I also works) or another Mitros+ which can be either a transmitter or receiver.
Q: 8. Is there an ETA on these flashes? Was there an issue in production from the manufacture? From what I see these were available for a short while at the end of last year at some level.... and now are they on back order?
A: Unfortunately as this item is on backorder from the manufacturer, we cannot provide an ETA at the current time. I apologize for the inconvenience, however you can select to be informed when this product returns to our inventory by clicking on the Notify When in Stock icon on the product page.
Q: 9. Thank you for your rpevious answer-I just want to confirm that this will only work as a master on radio transmission with other flashes of the same brand, Phottix, and for Canon flashes it only works on infrared?
A: This flash can be used as a master to control other flashes. It has two systems built in but not at the same time. If you want to use the radio TTL system it only works with other Phottix flashes. The other is the Canon IR system and that can control other flashes that use that system like a Canon 430ex ll, http://bhpho.to/1kxamid
Q: 10. HelloIf I use the Mitros+ on the sony a7Rii as a controller/transmitter, what flash mode settings should I have on my a7rii? Should I set it to slow flash, fill flash or wireless ?
A: I expect that the flash will work with any flash setting on your Sony A7Rii. I have used it on my A7ii on camera in all of the flash modes and off camera in slow flash and high speed synch. It is absolutely a fantastic flash for the Sony A7s! I use mine with MagMod gear as well.
