The N90-DRC/500 Mono Compressor and Gate from Phoenix Audio features a 100% Class-A circuit built around an open sounding transformerless input stage and a DSOP-2 output amplifier with a custom-wound DB694 output transformer. This 500-series module can be used when paired with an API rack (sold separately) to deliver mellow, transparent compression and subtle, musical gating for audio applications.

With ratios ranging from 2:1 to 8:1, the N90 is designed for tasteful, delicate compression. Driving more signal into the N90 can produce a wide range of tones from the DSOP-2 output stage—from crystal clean to warm, pure Class-A analog saturation. It is never a fussy or sensitive task to dial in your desired sound.

Furthermore, the N90's gate is suitable for everything from standard noise gating to more subtle control of ambience levels relative to the main signal. There is an external key input, allowing you to trigger the gate with an external signal. Up to eight N90-DRC/500s can be linked together, allowing the compressor and gate functions to be controlled from just one of the units. From the subtlest gain control to lush Class-A artifacts, the N90-DRC/500 is a versatile dynamic control unit.

A: Yes it will

Q: 2. Does this fit the C300 Mark III 4.3 monitor?

A: The Zacuto C300/500 Z-Finder 1.8x will not be able to fit onto the Canon EOS C300 Mark III Digital Cinema Camera's monitor, as they are different sizes and form factors. The Zacuto Canon C500 Mark II & C300 Mark III Z-Finder, B&H # ZAZFINDC5, would be compatible with the Canon C300 Mark III.

Q: 3. Will the SB-500 work in Commander mode with the D500?

A: According to the D500 product manual it will. Page 212 of the manual includes settings specific to speedlights, including the SB-500. You can download a .pdf version of the manual (that is large enough to actually use as a reference) from the download center on Nikon's website.

Q: 4. Will Duracell rechargeable batteries work in this light or is a different one better?

A: Yes, Duracell rechargeable batteries are compatible with the Nikon SB-500 AF Speedlight. However, the Panasonic eneloop Pro Rechargeable AA Ni-MH Batteries with Charger (2550mAh, 4-Pack) are likely to have a higher mAh, making the flash power last longer.

Q: 5. Will this work on the Canon C100 and 200 cameras?

A: No. The following unit is designed and made for the C300/C500 Z-Finder is only compatible with the Canon C300, C300 Mark II, and the Canon C500.

Q: 7. Can the Nikon SB-500 AF Speedlight work with using Yongnuo RF603 II wireless flash trigger? I am using a Nikon D50 for a camera body.

A: Unfortunately, your Nikon D50 body is not compatible with the Yongnuo RF-603N II Wireless Flash Trigger Kit for Nikon DC2 Connection due to the lack of DC2 connector on the D50. Therefore, you could not trigger the Nikon SB-500 Speedlight with the Yongnuo trigger.
