Q: 1. Wondering which extension tube will pair better with the 18-55, the 11mm or the 16mm, and what the difference would be?

A: I use mine on the 18-55 2.4-4 lens and it works awesome. I zoom the lens all the way out though

Q: 2. Will the MCEX 11 and 16 work on the following: 35mm f1.4 18-55mm 16-55mm thank you.

A: The FUJIFILM MCEX-11 and the FUJIFILM MCEX-16 is compatible with all FUJIFILM XF and XC lenses on FUJIFILM X-series cameras.

Q: 3. Does the 16mm extension tube have weather seals as well, or does using it strip weather sealed lenses and bodies of the weather sealing?

A: No Body Caps and Weather Seal .I only using it with 55-200mm and so far so good .

Q: 4. Does this fit the Fujifilm X70?

A: Unfortunately, the FUJIFILM Lens Cap for X100T (Silver) is not listed as compatible with the Fuji X70. What you can do is buy this PolarPro FUJIFILM X100 Filter Adapter (49mm, Silver) which lists compatibility with the Fuji X70 and then you can use a 49mm lens cap on it. This is the PolarPro FUJIFILM X100 Filter Adapter (49mm, Silver). https://bhpho.to/3T7ejV1 This is a 49mm lens cap you can use. https://bhpho.to/4byiNvp

Q: 5. will it work with the 16-55 fx fuji zoom?

A: Good question.I just attached my 16-55 f-2.8 lens to my XT-2 and the MCEX-11 tube. I found it only works from 35mm-55mm wide open and stopped down. but, you are extremely close to the subject. at any of the wider ranges, I couldn't get it to focus and you are touching the subject and blocking any light. I bought it to use with my 90mm,for closer focusing with portraits, but haven't used it, as that lenses focuses very close. if you want it for macro, you might be better buying the 60mm macro lens.Hope this helped

Q: 6. I have a XS20 and the use mm23 lens and I just bought the MCEX-16 tube and nothing is working. Am I doing something wrong or does the macro not work with my camera?

A: The extension tube only focuses at the lens minimum focus distance with the extension attached. If your extension tube combination exceeds the amount of mm of your lens it can not focus because the magnification is higher than what's permitted by the optics in the lens.

Q: 7. Can these be used with the 80 mm macro lens to get even more magnification?

A: Yes it will improve it a little.

Q: 8. Does this work with the 23mm f2 lens? Thanks!

A: I've used this extension tube with this lens and it does work. With this particular lens there is a very short shooting distance from the subject (there is a chart on the fuji website). You might get more use out of the 11mm tube when using the 23mm lens depending on what you need it for.

Q: 9. I already owned a 16 which can focus quite close. I also own a 23,35,56 & 55-200 lens. Do I need to buy an extension tube to actually do macro work? Would you recommend the 11 or 16 mm extension tube?

A: I also own a 16mm lens, and at closest focus, the subject is only about 2 1/2 from the front of the lens - that's often too close to be able to adequately light your subject (and too close for comfort to photograph a bee on a flower!). I bought the MCEX-16 but not the MCEX-11 because it gives me the range of magnification that I need with my 27mm, 55-200mm and 100-400mm lenses. I use it with my 27mm lens, for, among other things, copying old 35mm slides as it almost exactly covers the 35mm 1 x1 1/2 size. I've used it with my 100-400mm at 400mm to photograph frogs in a pond, giving me extreme closeups at a distance that is much closer than the lens normally focuses. Yes, it not equivalent to a true macro lens since you won't be able to focus at things further away, but that's not relevant when you're taking close up photographs. The comment about not accepted as a true macro in competitions is wrong - macro photography is about photographing things close up, not about the equipment you use to take the photographs - you can use a true macro lens, a lens with an extension tube, or a lens with closeup filters (which I also have and have gotten some great images - the reason I bought the MCEX-16 is that my close-up filters fit only on my 27mm lens and i wanted macro capability with my other lenses as well)

Q: 10. I have 16mm, 27mm, 35mm and 18-55mm. Should I buy this MCEX-11 11mm or MCEX-16? Which lens would benefit the most from these 2 tubes for macro photography?

A: You can decide by referring to the following table from Fujifilm. B&H won't let me include a hyperlink, so... Go to the Fujifilm Web site, click on products, digital cameras, accessories, lens (Lens Accessories). There is a link to a PDF entitled Magnification of the Macro Extension Tube. The document is a table for all Fujifilm lens and both extension tubes.

As expected the Fuji designed extension tube connects with Fuji lenses and preserves their normal functions. It's an inexpensive way to turn all of your lenses into macro lenses.

Can't go wrong. It's just an extension tube. Flawless electronic pass-through.

Provides great results with Fuji 60mm f/2.4 macro lens. Retains all connections, and at max magnification covers an area only 30mm (1 1/4) wide. With a small aperture and flash (on or off camera), it makes a great portable handheld close up rig. I'm sure this tube works just as well with the Fuji 80mm macro lens.

I have to say, I am really enjoying the results with only the little bit of dabbling I've done so far on my roses with the MCEX-11 extension tube. Currently I'm using it with my 50mm f/2 lens. I love having an inexpensive option for beautiful macro photos, especially since macro photography is just a once-in-a-while kind of thing for this photo enthusiast. Spending less than a hundred dollars is much better than spending several hundred dollars on a lens that I'd only use occasionally. It really is a great alternative.
