The VIGITRON MaxiiCopper Vi2700RX Ethernet and 60W PoE++ Extender Local Unit, when used with the Vi2700TX Remote Unit (available separately), meets the requirements for Ethernet and PoE transmission of high powered cameras and other PoE powered devices. It extends Ethernet and 802.3af PoE up to 3,000' (914m) using UTP cables. The Vi2700RX is compatible with Vi2300 series Ethernet extenders.

With a built-in high powered 74W injector, the Vi2701RX provides power to the Vi2701TX and PoE powered devices, eliminating the need for expensive remote-site power supplies and power sources, thereby lowering system installation and operating costs. The use of Symmetric Bandwidth (SBW) technology assures full bandwidth transmission is maintained over the entire operational range for both uploads and downloads with Virtual Zero Packet Loss (VZPL).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are all 8 ports POE+? The yellow decal under them has POE on the left and then between 4 and 5 it says POE+ so want t be sure it's all 8 and not just 5, 6, 7, 8.

A: PoE on all 8 ports. Total budget 123w.

Q: 2. Is this a fan cooled unit? Thanks

A: This is a fanless unit designed for silent operation.

Q: 3. How many watts of POE power does this support?

A: The Veracity OUTREACH Max G Gigabit Ethernet & PoE Extender (BH # VEVORORMG) supports up to 90W of power onto an Ethernet cable while maintaining backwards compatibility with older IEEE PoE standards.

Q: 4. To reach a distance of 500 ft (Cat 6 Cable PoE from NVR to Camera), do I need one PoE Extender in the middle only?

A: Yes you can put one of these in the middle of the run, just remember this model is not weather proof.

Q: 5. I have a Dahua NVR with 8 camera support. I have one Ethernet cable running to a corner of my house where I want to put two cameras. Can I use this to split the ethernet cable to two cameras?

A: Yes; this was the exact use case I used it for as well. You just need to ensure your POE power supply is large enough to support both of the cameras.

Q: 6. Is it possible to plug a non-POE unit into this switch without damaging the non-POE device?

A: Yes. It is possible to plug a non-POE unit into the Netgear 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ Unmanaged Switch.

Q: 7. Is this switch loud? I'm using in a studio control room.

A: It is very quiet.

Q: 8. Would this device also extend the range of an Router/Access Point?

A: This unit will extend your power over ethernet distance another 100m. This will not give you better WIFI range from your router/access point.

Q: 9. Does this unit mount natively in a 1 RU space or is an adapter or shelf required?

A: Yes, the Netgear 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ Unmanaged Switch BH #NEGS108LP100 fits in a 1RU space, it includes a rackmount kit in the box.

Q: 10. This will supply POE power to cameras located 800 feet away?

A: If you are speaking about the distance from the VHW-HWPS-C4 to the cameras, then we are looking at 100 meters which is the ethernet standard. However, the distance between the VHW-HWPS-B and the VHW-HWPS-C4 is 300 meters.
