The Sennheiser e 602 II is a cardioid dynamic instrument microphone offering high SPL handling, fast transient response, and extended low-frequency capture of instruments such as bass drums, bass guitar cabinets, tuba, and more in recording sessions and live stage applications. The microphone features a dynamic element with a lightweight voice coil and a built-in hum-compensating coil for picking up loud sources devoid of noise and distortion.

The cardioid polar pattern minimizes off-axis noise and feedback that might occur near monitor speakers or other instruments, making it ideal for use on stage or in the studio. With a frequency response of 20 Hz to 16 kHz, the mic is capable of reproducing sub-bass tones without sacrificing high-end definition. An integrated stand mount enables easy placement of the rugged, lightweight aluminum body, and provides a pivoting angle for optimal positioning. The e 602 II includes a pouch for safe storage and convenient transport.

A: Yes, the MKE 600 will pickup clear audio from a 5' distance.

Q: 3. Use as a dual purpose field mic: I shoot a considerable amount of interviews/news where a normal mono mic (416) is all that is required. Every so often however, I find myself needing to record a musical performances or needing a audience mic (ENG style, not for critical listening) where having a stero mic would help. How well does this mic work in mono mode? Does it work/sound as good as the 416 when just utilizing the center element? I have a 552 field mixer, so dual phantom power isn't an issue. I guess I would need to find a boom cabled for 5 pin XLR, any suggestions?

A: Yes, this mic will sould as good as the 416 when in mono mode. The specifications are nearly identical, and the tonal quality will be the same. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/308955-REG/Remote_Audio_CAXSTE25_5_Pin_Stereo_XLR_Female.html

Q: 7. Dear sir, is the Sennheiser MKE 440 compatible with Canon 60D?

A: If the 60D has a microphone jack, I dont why it wouldnt work

Q: 8. Several on camera monitors have a second cold-shoe mount on the side for something like a microphone. Would there be any issue using this microphone sideways?

A: yes. this mic is designed to give to the left speaker what is left of frame and the same with the right. something or someone that is interested b the middle (in front of the camera) will get an extra boost as well as separation from off camera sounds.if you orient the mic as ou mentioned, you'll get sound bouncing off the ground in one speaker and sound from the sky above in the other which will make for a weird stereo image that at the same time adds noise to the dialog that would otherwise not be there.better to use a mono shotgun style mic or find a way to flip this one right side up.

Q: 9. Wanting to know how well this mic "ignores" side noise. We do a lot of quick interviews in bars and brewery taprooms and our Audio-Technica AT875R attached to a Canon XA10 picks up a ton of noise off to the sides of of the mic and camera. Need something that mostly picks up what in front of it. Hoping this mic does?

A: There’s a good video on YouTube demonstrating the 875r, 897 and MKH60 and the 897 seemed to have the best off-axis rejection. https://youtu.be/XyGZA9FQudU

Q: 10. Also, how much roll off does the high pass filter do? It just says switchable. Thanks.

A: This is not a published specification. For certain it is below 100Hz.
