A: The FSL09CN00 folds down smaller using the reverse-fold method, and the TSL08CN00 does not. The TSL08CN00 is slightly sturdier because of its single-section center column (vs a 2-section) and its 4-section legs (vs a 5-section), but the folded length is 20.1" instead of 12.9".

A: There is a center column that you can bring up and lock into place - its probably about 8-12 inches if my memory serves correctly - were very happy with this product - it was recommended to us by a friend who is a professional photographer

Because it is also a slim carbon-fiber tripod it is not very stabilized in heavy wind, snow, rain, hail, rivers etc. Take a look at B&H # BETAD28CB2 as an alternative.

Q: 10. Can you remove the center column?

A: The column on the Benro TSL08CN00 Slim Carbon-Fiber Tripod with Ball Head can be removed and turned upside down for low angle shooting if you remove the column completely there is no place for the tripod head to attach.
