Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this control Sony EVI-HD1 cameras?

A: Hi, Corey! No, you need a controller that supports the RS232C protocol like the Sony RM-IP10 IP Remote Controller (B&H # SORMIP10 MFR # RM-IP10). Regards, ~Ralph

Q: 2. How can i get a power cord for this model?

A: You can use this Watson Power Supply that we offer: BH #WAPS12V2A21

Q: 3. Is this compatible with the Legion Go and RTX 4070? Do I need to install any software to use this?

A: The OWC Akitio Node Titan Thunderbolt 3 External GPU Enclosure can be used with a Lenovo Legion Go and an RTX 4070. In order to use this setup, you'll need to download the NVIDIA GeForce drivers.

Q: 4. Is this compatible with Mac book pro that have the M1 chip?

A: External graphics processors (eGPU) are only supported on Macs with an Intel Processor. One cannot currently use an eGPU with an Apple processor like the M1. The OWC Akitio Node Titan Thunderbolt 3 External GPU Enclosure can still be used with these newer Macs for other PCIe devices, but not with eGPUs

Q: 5. Is this controller compatible with Sony BRC-H700?

A: Hi, Jeremy! Yes, via RS422 but you will have to make your own cable from the included green phoenix adapter on the PTZ camera to an RJ45 connector on the controller. All pinouts are included in the included literature from each device. ~Ralph

Q: 6. Can I recall a stored camera move (trace memory) and move to another camera while the first camera completes its moves?

A: Up to 100 combinations of camera angles and settings can be stored as presets. Trace Memory allows a sequence of camera moves to be stored and recalled whenever required. Speeds can be adjusted from slow to fast for more polished, professional-looking results. Full compatibility is provided with these Sony PTZ remote camera models: BRC-X1000, BRC-H900, BRC-H800, SRG-360SHE. If the memory is stored, we see no reason listed that you cannot move another camera moves.

Q: 7. In addition to using this to control Sony PTZ cameras, can I also use it to control the PTZ function of the Data Video KMU-100 device? It looks like the KMU accepts VISCA commands over RS-422.

A: Not that we are aware of. Datavideo only lists the KMU-100 as compatible with the RMC-185/RMC-185+ and RMC-180 controllers.

Q: 8. Will this operate with the now redundant BRC-H700?thanks.

A: Sony lists the BRC series as compatible with this controller.

Q: 9. Are the presets stored in the RM-IP500 or is it stored in the camera, limited to the number of preset the camera can hold? (ie. BRC-X1000 only 16 presets - not 100.)

A: To the best of my knowledge all presets are stored within the RM-IP1500, ive not found a use for storing more than 6-10 per camera that I use but I would certainly recommend the unit.

Q: 10. Will this controller work with the Sony SRG-X400 PTZ camera?

A: Yes it will. The Sony SRG-X400 will be compatible with this controller.
