Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. do i need a clear line of sight for the remote to work?

A: Yes, the remote must be pointing at the camera's sensor (on the FRONT of the camera, just right of the lens. As long as you are in front, and not too far off to the right side (where the lens may interfere), it triggers well.

Q: 2. will this work with the canon rebel T100/EOS 300D?

A: This remote is not compatible with the Canon Rebel T100.

Q: 3. Will this hold the shutter open for a night shot?

A: This remote will allow for bulb shooting, typically up to 30 seconds and possibly 60 seconds if your camera has a fireworks shooting mode.

Q: 4. Is it compatible with either the Canon EOS-R6 or Canon EOS-1Dx Mark III?

A: The Canon RC-6 remote is compatible for use with the Canon EOS R6 Mirrorless Digital Camera as indicated on page 433 of the Canon EOS R6 Advanced User Guide. However, the Canon RC-6 remote is not compatible for use with the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III Digital Camera.

Q: 5. does it work with canon m6 ?

A: Yes it is compatible with a Canon M6.

Q: 6. will the Rc-6 wireless remote control work with the canon EOS M5 mirrowless camera if so how do I set it up. ?

A: According to B&H, that is an accessory for that camera. I don't have that camera, though.

Q: 7. I have the Canon Rebel T3 Camera. i recently ordered the RC-6 wireless remote for my camera. Is there a wireless remote setting on the Rebel T3 camera? I can not find that setting anywjere on my camera.

A: Unfortunately, the Canon EOS Digital Rebel T3 DSLR camera does not have an infrared receiver built into the camera, and it is not compatible for use with the Canon RC-6 Wireless Remote Control. The only remotes that are compatible with the Canon EOS T3 would be ones that plug into the 2.5mm sub-miniphone remote terminal on the left-hand side of the camera, such as the Canon RS-60E3 Remote Switch, B&H # CARS60E3. If you are looking for a wireless remote that would be compatible for use with your camera, I would instead recommend the Vello FreeWave Wireless Remote Shutter Release (Canon Sub-Mini Connection), B&H # VERWC1, which uses the 2.5mm sub-miniphone remote terminal.

Q: 8. What are the 2 positions on the switch on canon rc-6?

A: If I remember correctly, the switch controls the delay in seconds before the shutter activates after clicking the remote. There are settings 0 or 2.

Q: 9. I need to record some video on my 70D using a prompter and remote. Is this the unit I should purchase?

A: Yes it will. Once you push to button towards your camera that's on a tripod it will take the picture or start your video if you are in the mode. I have an 80D Canon and it works fine with it and the 70D. Just make sure it's pointing at the camera and you can be several feet away, like 15 I think.

Q: 10. Will this work with a Canon powershot SX720HS?

A: This will not work with the Canon PowerShot SX720 HS.
