Multi-cloud has become a core element for any enterprise strategy, and top cloud providers have responded by embracing PCIe/NVMe-based SSDs with scalable performance, low latency, and continued innovation. As software-defined and converged infrastructures are swiftly adopted, the need increases to maximize efficiency, revitalize existing hardware, deploy new workloads, and yet reduce operational expenditures. The SSD DC P4610 Series is designed to significantly increase server agility and utilization, as well as to accelerate applications across a wide range of cloud workloads.

Intel's 64-layer TLC 3D NAND technology helps to enable the DC P4610 to increase available capacity up to 20% more compared to its immediate predecessor, the Intel SSD DC P4600. This increased density is the key to supporting broader workloads, allowing cloud and enterprise service providers to increase users, and improving data service levels. An intelligent firmware algorithm is designed to keep host and background data reads and writes at an optimal balance, helping to ensure better QoS. With the DC P4610, host applications have access to higher capacity as well as up to 35% faster write rates, up to 35% more endurance per drive, and up to 4x reduction of service time at a QoS metric of 99.99% availability for random-access workloads.

To help ensure telemetry information without disrupting ongoing I/O operations, the DC P4610 includes enhanced SMART monitoring of drive health and status, using an in-band mechanism and out-of-band access. A power loss imminent (PLI) protection scheme with a built-in self-test guards against data loss if system power is suddenly cut. Coupled with an end-to-end data path protection scheme, PLI features enable ease of deployment into resilient data centers. The DC P4610 combines firmware enhancements with new 3D NAND features to prioritize host workload.

To help data centers make the most of increased SSD capacity per server, dynamic namespace management delivers the flexibility to enable more users and scale deployment. The DC P4610 also provides security features like TCG Opal 2.0 and a built-in AES-XTS 256-bit encryption engine, which are required by some secure platforms. With the capability to manage multiple firmware versions on a drive and to support updates without a reset, the DC P4610 improves integration and increases the ease and efficiency of deploying at scale.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does this SSD works with windows 7?

A: It is compatible with Windows 7. The motherboard must have an m.2 slot and if it is to be a bootable drive, the motherboard and bios would have to support it, otherwise it would just be for storage.

Q: 2. does this has d ram?

A: This is an SSD, not RAM.

Q: 3. It looks like a SATA drive in the picture. Does it also have a SATA interface?

A: No, the Intel 8TB DC P4510 Internal SSD BH #IN2KX080T801 does not have a SATA interface.It's a U.2 15mm Form Factor/PCIe NVMe 3.1 x4 Interface.

Q: 4. Could this drive support recording 4k at 60p?

A: Yes, this drive can support that amount of live data transfer via stream.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with ASUS TUF Z370-Plus Gaming LGA1151 ATX Motherboard? Thanks.

A: Yes, the Crucial 500GB MX500 M.2 Internal SSD BH #CRMX500500S4 is compatible with the ASUS TUF Z370-Plus Gaming LGA1151 ATX Motherboard.

Q: 6. Laptop has a 1.6 processor , will replacing the harddrive with this ssd add much speed?

A: Going from HDD to SDD will not change the processing speed. It will however increase the speed that you can open or save files and applications. It can also make your boot times faster.

Q: 7. Will this drive work with SATA I?

A: Yes, the Crucial 4TB MX500 2.5" Internal SATA SSD, (B&H # CRCT4000MX50), is backwards compatible with SATA I.

Q: 8. Is a 2.5 to 3.5 drive converter required to mount it in the QNAP TS 251+?

A: Yes, it appears that way. Perhaps send an email directly to QNAP and ask them? For my desktop I just used some velcro in the tray, but this has SATA cable connections, not a no cable press in place setup.

Q: 9. Is it compatible with a 2209 Macbook pro?

A: It is compatible, but will only operate at the SATA speed allowed by your MBP. So SATA I @ 1.5 Gbps or SATA II @ 3 Gbps. The drive is backwards compatible but will not be as fast as it would on a newer computer.

Q: 10. Does this ssd works in a Macbook Air Mid 2012?

A: No, this Crucial 1TB MX500 2.5" Internal SATA SSD, would not work internally with a Macbook Air Mid 2012 model.

I had a BX version of this drive for my main drive. Notice after a couple years the drive was hitching up and lagging. Replaced it with this and everything is gone. Hopefully the dram will extend the life of this drive.

My 2011 MBP was really slow to start up with the old hard drive and I would never turn it off because it would take minutes to start up and even once I was logged in I had to wait to open any programs. It would be extremely slow to load pages online for several minutes as well. Now it starts right up and I can open programs immediately upon logging in and get full responsiveness. It is so much better and I saved thousands by not upgrading my laptop. It was a great value and I was able to double my original storage space for under $100, which was great because my drive was starting to fill up. If you are thinking about upgrading to an SSD to extend the life of your older MacBook I would highly recommend it and you can save yourself a lot of money by avoiding buying a new laptop. I have had the drive in for almost a year now and the computer has been running great ever since I replaced it.

I bought this because it is the cheapest 1 TB drive the Ninja V can shoot Prores with. It works and has been in the heat of around 110 F for a few days.

This crucial was an excellent upgrade, my computer revived completely from lagging to a fast lightning in restart and navigating or open any application. Crucial software for the backup wasn't helpful at all. I used the Microsoft one.

I've been using Crucial and WD SSDs since the M500, and so far, they're all still in commission. To compare, i purchased a Samsung 250gb 850 many many years ago and it failed right out of the gate.

I would buy this again.
