Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the small switch on the back of the remote used for?

A: The switch on the back of the Canon RC-6 is for the delay function, which can be set for either 2 or 10 seconds.

Q: 2. i have a canon Mark II.. um.. how do i sync or use the remote with my camera??? thanks!

A: The remote is compatible with the 5D Mk II camera. If you have a different Mk II model please indicate which specific so I can further research the compatibility. For the 5D MK II camera, the camera's instruction manual details how to set up the use of the remote control on page 102. Access the AF-Drive button on the top of the camera and select the remote control option there. See the following link to the manual on our website for details:http://cdn2.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/101.pdf

A: yes

Q: 9. Is this remote compatible with 7D Mark ll?

A: The remote is compatible with the Canon 7Dii.

Q: 10. Will this remote, make sure that I am in focus before shot is fired? I do a lot of self-portraits and want to make sure that this gadget will only fire when I am in focus before it goes off.

A: If your camera is set to One-Shot AF, when you press the shutter button on the Canon RC-6 Remote Control, the camera will first focus on the item on the focusing point chosen inside the camera's viewfinder, then it will release the shutter. It does not have a half-press function similar to the shutter button on the camera, so the camera will first focus, then capture the image as soon as the button is pressed (unless the remote is set to 2-Sec. Delay). If the camera is set to AF-C or AF-A focus modes, it is possible the camera will release the shutter without focusing, which is why One-Shot AF is recommended when using the Canon RC-6 for self-portrait usage needs.
