A: Using objective data, the Sirui BCH-20 Video Head, technically supports more weight for a payload of 22lbs vs the E-Image GH06 Fluid Head, which supports a payload of 13lbs, however, the Sirui also weighs more than the E-Image at 7.1lbs weight, vs the E-Image at 4.4lbs. So if payload support is the most important feature, but the weight of the tripod head is negligible, the Sirui would be the better choice. If weight of the head itself is important for transportation, etc, the E-Image may be the better choice.

Q: 2. I purchased this head last December, and recently it started to ooze a thick grease from the base and over the top of my Gitzo tripod. Has anyone else had this problem? is there a way to correct this?

A: There was a batch of GH-30 Gimbals that had a manufacturing defect in the internal lubrication seals. The issue only became apparent after months of use. Oben had this corrected in subsequent productions. Q: 3. What is the tilt degree +/- range for this gimbal?

A: Tilt degree depends on camera/lens combo. Longer lenses and cameras with auxiliary batteries will reduce the vertical travel. My typical set up is with a Canon 60D and a Sigma 150-600 zoom, usually at full 600mm range. I see no limits to this combination. I did, however, purchase an Arca-Swiss baseplate from Sunway Photo to add the additional slide to accommodate the longer lens and get the balance back.

A: yes,you can get other plates that will fit the BH30,in my case i just replaced the hole top plate with RRS quick release system.this is a vary good ballhead fot the price.

A: The Sirui BCH-30 Video Head thread length is not listed by the manufacturer. It is designed for use on any tripod with a 100mm half shell.

A: Though I don't have these plates, I do have three other brands of Arca-Swiss compatible plates that work well with this clamp. That's one thing I really like about using the Arca-Swiss system, compatibility between brands is very good.
