Q: 1. Can I use the Avenger RH353 Reflector Holder with a Manfrotto 5001B?

A: I use my RH353 with a Manfrotto 5001BAC...had some difficulty attaching the clamp to the top section of the light stand, as the diameter of the light stand pole seemed a bit too large for the RH353's clamp. Ultimately got it to work, though. Used indoors only with a 40 collapsible reflector attached with the holder at approx. 90 degrees to the light stand, and the whole rig was very stable. BobH

A: YES. I BOUGHT IT FOR EXACTLY THAT PURPOSE. ALTHOUGH I ONLY BOUGHT ONE TO TEST IT. IT FITS AND I AM NOW GOING TO BUY THREE MORE!

Q: 3. Can a strobe attach to this pin and this Grip Head attach to an extension arm of a C stand?

A: This 4-1/2" grip head is designed to mount into the Junior Receiver of a Combo stand or an Overhead Rolling Stand. You will want to use a 6" Pin With Collar (PN: 429599) to mount your strobe and a 2.1/5" Grip Head (PN: 350580) to mount onto the Extension Arm of the C-Stand.

Q: 4. What materials is this made of? Aluminum or Plastic?

A: The Impact Grip Head For Wide Diameter Tubes would be aluminum.

Q: 5. Is it possible to take apart the griphead to remove the rubber friction pad and replace it with an aluminum one?

A: Yes, with the right set of tools the Kupo 4.5" Center Grip Head with 28mm Pin will allow you to swap out brake pads.

Q: 6. Can this mini grip head be used separately for other purposes than the reflector holder or is it made specifically for this reflector holder? Can the boom be detached from the grip head?

A: The boom clamp (grip head) for this arm can be separated from the arm. While it can fit tube diameters from 0.5-0.75”, it is best used with this particular arm.

Q: 7. Is the junior receiver (Female) directly above the mounting pin, or is it offset like the avenger and kupo 4.5 grip heads?

A: It is offset so the gobo will work properly. I like to use two stacked on top of each other. One to hold a silk and the other a negative for OTFs in full sun.

Q: 8. What is the difference between this model ME-102P and the discontinued model? ME-102.

A: The difference is that the ME-102P has a different bolt size in the handle and it its female threads. Otherwise, they have the same specifications and usage.

Q: 9. Will this work with a 52 circular collapsible reflector?

A: With the mini-grip moved all the way up to the rubber handle, the maximum possible distance between the reflector clamps measures about 65 on the one I have.

Q: 10. Is this similar to the Manfrotto one, are they the same?

The Kupo 2-1/2 Grip Head is a beast. This is pro-grade gear and is absolutely rock-solid. The large handle makes tightening (and loosening) very easy. I use this to hold the Kupo Baby Boom and it does so very reliably. Love the Kupo slogan Never Let Go because it's true. 5

I bought this head for a new Kupo Junior Roller Stand. I really like Kupo light stand stuff. Things are, innovative, well made, and strong enough to handle the task at hand. I like the size of the T handle. It is really big, so I can get it really tight. Best of all, the price is right! Give Kupo a try, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. 5

I don't have a lot of C-stands, but I do always seem to have a couple of extra lights stands around. This grip head will quickly convert your light stand into a light-duty C-stand. Great for holding a flag or cutter. 5

Works as advertised. The big T handle allows you to get a very secure hold on your fixture. It's a small addition to my grip kit, but a big help on set. 5
