The ball head adapter is a welcome part of the Kupo Super Grip family of products and a useful tool to add to your grip kit. This piece of hardware is simple yet versatile and helpful for setting select light fixtures, such as light tubes or pin spots, in otherwise difficult positions. It may also come in handy for precision framing for tabletop photography. The base of the ball head sports a 3/8"-16 female thread, while the ball itself carries an integrated 3/8"-16 screw. This setup provides an incredibly flexible platform from which to rig your equipment. A large ratcheting handle allows for single-hand operation of the ball head lock.

Q: 1. Description is not clear. Video and description state 3 stages. Still photo shows 2. Which is it??

A: The Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod has 3 leg sections.

Q: 2. Spikes or rubber feet?

A: The Manfrotto Retractable Spiked Foot Set (3), BH # MA160SPK3 would be a compatible set for the Manfrotto MT055CXPRO4. https://bhpho.to/3INusul

Q: 3. How is this different than the Manfrotto pistol grip?

A: This head is virtually the same as the Manfrotto, just a different make.

Q: 4. In the specs it says, this has a detachable base AND a levelling leg. I thought, only turtle base C-stands have a detachable base/riser. Can you positively confirm that this specific version actually features BOTH? (as opposed to Kupo #KS704011) Thank you!

A: Yes. The unit offers the two following features detachable base leveling leg

Q: 5. I need a good stable, travel tripod for wild life photog. I currently have a Nikon D800e with Sigma 150-600mm Sport lens and Manfrotto/Bogen 3421 gimbal. I am also 5'7 and cannot bend forward for any length of time so tripod needs to be tall enough with very little center column extension. I typically shoot beyond 500mm on my lens. Will this tripod excel for me or is there another model? Thank you.

A: I purchased this tripod at the end of February and have been totally happy with the decision. It is a very stable tripod. I have used it with my Canon 70-200L lens and it has worked very well. I am not familiar with the gimble support you mentioned but I think the tripod would work well for you. When spreading the legs out it takes a little practice to get the hang of it. I have found that you need to back off the legs slightly to get the leg latches to release in order to spread the legs to the next position. If you purchase the four section leg model you should have more than enough height without extending the center column. The tripod is very light and easy to carry in the field. With your big lenses I might suggest that you hang your camera bag from the built in hanger for additional stability although I have not found this to be a problem. The tripod is very stable by itself. As I also own one of Manfrotto's professional studio tripods (which is quite heavy) I have found this to be an exceptional tripod for the field and carrying to various sites. You will not be disappointed with this tripod. Construction is rugged and will hold up well in the field. I hope this helps you.Jim

Q: 6. What is the difference in leg diameters of the 055 and the 190?

A: Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 has 3 leg section. The top section has a 25mm diameter, the middle section is 20mm and the lower section is 16mm.

Q: 7. I have this head and would like to change the clamp to a acra swiss type, any suggestions.

A: There are converters that you could use to change this to an Arca swiss however it would only be screwing onto a single point to it wouldn't be very rigid.

Q: 8. can you use a L bracket with this head?

A: Yes, We suggest using the following item. Manfrotto Q2 L Bracket BH #MAQ2LB • MFR #MS050M4-Q2 https://bhpho.to/3H2uFq3

Q: 9. Is this a grey market or authentic Manfrotto and also is B&H an authorized dealer of Manfrotto products? Can the extended warranty be purchased for this item? Thank you so much. Charlotte

A: This tripod is only Manfrotto USA product with a Limited 6-Month Warranty, Extendable to 10 Years with Product Registration.

Q: 10. After the leg spread angle is set, if I push on a leg towards the center will it move? Are the legs truly locked in place?

A: You can push the legs inward on the Manfrotto MT055CXPRO4 Carbon Fiber Tripod even with them being 'locked' in place.

This grip head serves it purpose thus far. I wanted a way to attach my grip arm vertically without the modifer slipping and the teeth in this grip allots for that. Plus it also help save money by buying it instead of a new c stand. Thanks b&h. Now let's see how well this thing go last.

Works very well for attaching equipment to the top of a light stand, or any other 5/8 baby pin. Professional quality. Should last a very long time.

I used this product to mount a strobe on the grip arm of my Kupo turtle base c-stand.

It is well made, feels solid and, this may sound strange but, it also feels good, ergonomically, in my hand.

I find Kupo products to be well made, solid and best of all, they feel almost indestructible. Although there are cheaper alternatives available on the market I tend to shop Kupo because I have grown to love and trust this brand. I have every confidence their products will be delivered in good condition and work as expected.
