Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If camera (D810) is set to bracket exposures, will using remote follow the settings with multiple presses?

A: I've never used it for bracketing. I bought it for my extension pole I use for Motorsports photography.

Q: 2. Would this work to focus a pentax k 3 or k 5 ii using an auto focus lens or would it only control the shutter?

A: Yes; you would press the shutter button on the Vello FreeWave Wireless Remote Shutter Release halfway to focus your lens when using an autofocus lens on the cameras listed above.

Q: 3. How do you attach this to a Westcott 6.5 Boom Arm? The pin on the Boom Arm is not long enough and is not interchangeable... Any ideas?

A: To mount this adapter onto a Westcott boom, you can use the Manfrotto 153 Mole Richardson Baby Adapter - 5/8-5/8 B&H # MA153 which will help you have a better fit by lengthening the pin. Please see the image for reference.

Q: 4. Not sure I understand this product; why not just use a Gobo head?

A: It is also good for attaching lights or other devices to a grid ceiling when coupled with a grid clip. I have several of these in my print gallery wrap and frame workshop to hold pneumatic staplers and guns up out of the way.

Q: 5. Will this work with a Ricoh GR II?

A: This is a nice product that works well. I am not familiar with the Ricoh GR II, so cannot be much help in that area.

Q: 6. The reviews say this works with the a550 and a65. Will it also work with an a350?

A: The FreeWave Wireless Remote Shutter Release for Sony Alpha Cameras is compatible with the Sony A350.

Q: 7. How much weight can this hold? Do you think it can suspend properly a Westcott Zeppelin 47 with the Bowens mounting bracket, the focusing rod, a Bowens speed ring and a Phottix Indra500 TTL?

A: It's not quite as simple an answer as you may like. It depends on how you angle the pivoted extension. If it's angled down a 90 degree angle and a lightbox is simply hung from the spigot, then it should support pretty well any modifier and light. But if you angle a heavy modifier beyond 90 degrees down and therefore have to rely on the friction/clamping of the two small wing nuts, you may find it frustrating, ie. difficult to hold a position. Hand tightening the wing nuts probably won't create enough grip on the spigot and you'd probably have to use a wrench or pliers to add leverage to the tightening. I bought this drop down pin for, as the name implies, it's ability to drop down a light modifier and simply hang it on the spigot. If you keep to that use, or use it with a light weight modifier/light combo which should be ok to angle at other than 90 degrees, then you should be fine. I hope this helps.

Q: 8. will this work with a pair of studio lights (umbrellas)?

A: No, it would not. The Vello FreeWave Wireless Remote Shutter Release for Nikon DC-2 Connection is a wireless camera trigger; it is not designed to trigger studio lighting. You would need a separate wireless trigger connected either to the hot shoe of your camera or to the PC sync on your camera to trigger studio lighting. The above Vello FreeWave Wireless Remote Shutter Release for Nikon DC-2 Connection connects to the camera's remote terminal, not to the hot shoe or PC sync for triggering studio lighting.

Q: 9. Does the Spiderpro plate fit the Sony a6500 without interfering with the LCD screen?

A: Hi there.. The SpiderPro system was designed for PRO cameras. Since you are using a Mirrorless body, we highly reommend you use our SpiderLight Holster line of products. The SpiderLight plate should work with the narrow 6500 body, has an Arca-Swiss feature built-in and should not block your battery door. For any other questions please communicate via a href= http://spiderholster.com target= _blank spiderholster.com/a portal. All the best!Spider Team
