This allows you to experiment in real time with 14 iconic bass models, customizable string properties, and 24 interchangeable pickups. Furthermore, the Play Style function lets you choose and modify how you approach and play the instrument by modelling the way you use your hand and where you play on the string, with options such as finger, slap/pull, pick, and mute. The software comes with an Amp/FX section that offers a choice of tube amp or solid-state amp and seven stompbox effects, adding another layer of realism to your sound. Play Style function is your physically modeled playing hand—lets you choose and modify the way you approach and play the instrument

  • Finger option selects the finger style of bass playing—change which fingers you play with and how much force you use on the strings
  • Slap option recreates the act of slapping and pulling the bass strings with the thumb and fingers—every stroke will sound slightly different
  • Pick option gives you major transient attack on the string—choose the physical thickness of the pick, plus the picking style, downstroke or alternating
  • Mute option lets you apply muting techniques to any playing style—add just the right amount of damping of the strings producing the human-touch element of bass technique
  • Adjust where you play on the strings—closer to the bridge for a more pronounced upper frequency tone, closer to the neck for a rounder tone

Customize your string choice—different strings provide different sounds and tonal qualities

  • Choose the actual number of strings (4, 5, or 6)—determines the note scale range of the bass
  • Choose the gauge of the string set—affects timbre and sustain
  • Choose the age of the strings—changes the relative brightness of the tone
  • Choose the physical construction of the strings (round wound, flat wound, etc.)—changes the type of slide noise introduced when moving up and down the neck
  • Choose the bass physical scale length as well as the action, or physical distance between the strings and the fretboard

Customize pickups and wiring of the bass—experiment in real-time with different types of bass pickups and the position of each one (each bass can have up to two pickups)

  • Choose from 24 individual pickup models
  • Tweak the frequency response parameters of each pickup
  • Freely move the pickups around in the pickup area
  • Piezo pickup control option—lets you blend an under-bridge mounted piezo signal with your pickup signal
  • Adjust the overall pickup output with the tone control
  • Switch the electronics from passive to active
  • Parametric EQ lets you fine-tune your tone

Full control over the signal path gives you sonic options for bass tone shaping and effects

  • 7 stompbox effects—octaver, distortion, chorus, compressor, delay, envelope filter, graphic EQ (derived from models in AmpliTube Custom Shop)—configurable in a 4-slot chain
  • Classic all-tube amplifier and 1x15 cabinet
  • Powerhouse solid-state model with 4x10 cabinet
  • Each amp gives you control over gain structure, EQ (with mid-frequency adjustment on the tube amp), and a graphic EQ

Critical parameters can be automated in real time via MIDI control

  • Adjust vibrato, playing style, mute technique, and amount of slide technique
  • Keyswitching allows you to switch on the fly between chord mode and note mode, the type of stroke used playing, which fingers are used, and which method of playing is used
  • Full MIDI control with MIDI learn
  • Use your DAW’s automation to control parameters while you perform

  • Optimized, resizable interface
  • FX and amp global bypass for routing
  • Small memory footprint
  • Works as a 64-bit plug-in or standalone instrument for Mac/Windows
