The Taurus Jr HD60 from ProAm is a compact, 4' single-stage jib arm that lets you add 3' of reach with loads weighing up to 30 lb. You can choose to let the arm auto-tilt the camera to keep the horizontal level as you operate, or use the tilt handle to manually adjust camera tilt with loads up to 10 lb. A tilt brake locks the camera in place in its tilt position. The jib mounts onto tripods via a 3/8"-16 threaded hole at the bottom of an included 360° bearing mount, which allows for smooth panning motion. A rear 1" horizontal counterweight bar in the rear of the jib accepts standard dumbbell/barbell weights for counterbalance.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the approximate maximum / minimum angle for the crane arm? In other words, how close to vertical will it go when fully raised or lowered? (I realize this is somewhat dependent on the tripod/mount, but I'm wondering about the crane itself.)

A: I'm not sure on the angle. If set up in a typical fashion, the jib will not hit the legs of a tripod nor will attached standard weights on the rear balance section. On a five foot tall base the unit boasts that it will go from the ground to eleven feet tall. I find that to be pretty close to true. ProAm has a website with slightly more information about the unit that could come in handy. I hope this helps.

Q: 2. Reference 6th photo of DVC 210 crane/jib. Can someone identify the tilt head in the photo?

A: According to ProAm, this is the Micro Fluid Head 3126 by Manfrotto - which is unfortunately no longer sold by B&H. A similar alternative to this item is the Manfrotto 128RC MA128RC (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/553886-REG/Manfrotto_128RC_128RC_QR_Micro_Fluid.html)

Q: 3. When looking at photo #3 (i.e. the camera mounting plate) I see it is attached to the left side of the arm. I have one particular situation where I need it to be on the right side of the arm... I'm shooting a parade from a sidewalk on the south side of the street, with camera facing west. For this event, I need my camera facing in the opposite direction. So, my first question is, is it possible to flip the camera bracket over 180 degree, and at the same time, rotate it so that it faces to the right, instead of the left. Hope I made that clear enough. If that won't work, I have a Bescor MP-101 Motorized Pan Tilt Head that I could mount on the camera plate in it's default configuration, BUT, would the height of the Bescor MP-101 allow a camera (Canon XA-10 or Canon G30) mounted on top of it to clear the arm, hardware, etc., so the camera could face to the right?

A: According to ProAm: The camera bracket could be switched to the opposite side, but it would involve moving the handle to the opposite side as well, which would take some time and tools. I think the best solution would be, using the DVC210 with the boxy camera mount, attach your Bescor Pan Tilt Head and the camera on top of that. With the Extension Plate of the DVC210 added to the camera mounting bracket, he or she could even mount the Pan Tilt and camera in an upside down position. Q: 4. Is there a provision to lock the ProAm DVC 210 crane/jib into a position?

A: To lock this jib into position, there are two items required. For tilt, use the Tilt Brake PRTILT (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1090197-REG/proam_usa_camera_crane_tilt_brake.html). For panning, use the 360° Pan Lockable Bearing Mount PRDVC38BM (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1090196-REG/proam_usa_dvc_38bm_360_deg_pan_lockable_bearing.html)

Q: 5. HOW DO I ORDER FOR THE BOWL VERSION?

A: Here is the bowl adapter available.

Q: 6. Can I use this system with a Canon C100/battery/canon L series lens?

A: Yes you can, I have this setup and the result is amazing.

Q: 7. Does this crane have any kind of a vertical brake? For instance if I want to lock off an overhead shot.

A: No, there is no lock on the ProAm USA Orion Jr. Once balanced properly, You can set the camera where you want it and it will not move once let go. However, there is no solid locking mechanism.

Q: 8. Can you disable the auto leveling system and control the angle of the camera manually with this model?

A: To remove the auto-leveling system, you will have to remove the auto-leveling arm that is attached on top of the jib arm.

Q: 9. Is it possible to point the camera directly down as shown in the 6th photo with only the included parts?

A: No, the added mounting head shown in the 6th image is not included. You will need a separate head to point the camera directly down.

Q: 10. Is this compatible with Davis & Sanford PROVISTA18 ProVista Tripod and the FM18 Head?

A: While you will be able to connect this to the ProVista 18 this unit weighs 12 pounds before you add the camera and counter weights. The ProVista 18 has a load capacity of 18 pounds, it may not be enough with this unit. However ProAm makes a Camera Crane Stand specifically for this unit, it can handle a load capacity up to 100 pounds and is reasonably priced.
