The Libec controller works great with the Canon HF G20. One nice thing about this unit is how wide the jaw will open: I have actually attached this to a pretty thick hand grip on a rails-rig (zacuto type system) - it surprised that it would actually open that wide. Great unit, and very affordable.

It works great and is good for smooth zooming.

I want to start off by saying this thing is a solid build. I was worried with the cheaper price compared to other zoom controllers that it was going to be flimsy and poorly constructed. I use it for my Sony NXCAM 5U Camera. I had spent hundreds more on the original sony controller and for what! This thing works just as great and is big with a smooth feel on the rocker level.

Bought this little guy right before working two full days shooting cheerleading competitions. And I'm glad I did! I was able to achieve a variable speed zoom nearly as good as a studio setup. We'll see how well it holds up over time. For the price, I'm very impressed. I see no benefit in buying a similar name brand zoom control for twice the price. Libec does the job!

Broke someone's Varizoom and gave them my Canon zoom control, until I could get their unit fixed. Turns out I had to get a replacement. Bought the Libec instead. After using it myself, I'm going to let them keep my Canon. The Canon has all the focus and other bells and whistles, which I don't use. I used the Libec was used on a six-hour basketball shoot, with no previous practice with it. Like others have said, it's very smooth. Nothing flashy, beyond zoom and record/pause control. The click everyone is referring to was actually a welcome feature for me. It let me know I was recording/pausing. Great unit at a great price!...

This zoom control is perfect for me. I use this control with my Sony AX-2000 on my tripod for churches, events and Livestream broadcasts. All of the other controls have to many buttons and to many are not variable speed. This control has a REC button and the variable zoom rocker. It can be controlled without having to take your eyes off of your subject. The zoom rocker has a wide range of motion so it is easy to achieve the zoom speed you want without any trouble. The only thing I don't like is the color. I wish it was black like the picture. It is a little lighter than the rest of my equipment and that causes it to stand out. It seems durable and well built and it is inexpensive.

I use this little baby for shooting football from a pressbox with a canon xa-10. Perfect ergonomics with beautiful zoom controll. You can feel the record button click and it's in a nice position. I returned a $250.00 varizoom and bought this instead. Got to have pressure sensitive zoom. Maybe I'm just old school but variable zoom shouldn't involve turning a knob while holding down a button. I like the fact that it's simple and only starts, stops and zooms. Too many buttons on some of these products. I can recall using a different varizoom model that I literally had to look at the device each time I hit record to make sure I didn't accidentally power off the camera. I listened to the reviews on this and purchased it with a coiled remote cable that was recommended. Beauty on the brogan. I never even opened the plastic on the cable it comes with. I wsh I received a black on instead of the libec grey. Black bogan doesn't mesh well. But I do have an old libec I could break out just for this. I also wish I could go back and correct some errors on the stuff I just wrote but looks like there is a problem doing that on an iPad. Consider that a review of writing reviews.
